I have the same issues being 6'4". But rather than mess with my car, I got a block plain and shaved a couple of inches off my head

I know of one that had the slider removed and seat fixed direct to the floor, but then the dude who did it was and engineer. So I am not sure if it is easy (woulda thought so though) or if you have others drive the car.

if you buy a consider a set of aftermarket buckets seat you will find you sit in them rather than on them. i noticed a considerable difference between standard seats and corbeau carrera, plus the corbeau sliding subframes were alot shallower as well. they will also be a lot more supportive rich

Have a look at the type of seats that the Lotus Elise has, meant to be quite comfortable and not as thick, so you'll sit lower down. Not sure how hard they would be to mount though, and they don't tilt/slide in their native car!
