Hi, tried the FAQ to no avail, its explains everthing about the temp but not the actual normal running temp. Hoping to find the normal running temp for the coop, have noticed over the last few days mine seems to be running slightly hot (between 80 to 90), whilst Im here might as well ask the normal running temp for the oil (does it run warmer in the summer) mines is again about 80.

Cheers

Those temps seem ok. The oil one is a little high, depending on the type and grade of oil you are using. Just check your levels as always. \:\)

Operating Temperature and Thermostat

Normal operating temperature, which should be reached about 5 miles or 15 minutes of driving, is between 83-86 degrees (slightly lower for a 16V) according to the ECU sensor on a car with a working thermostat. The dash gauge may read up to 10 degrees lower for cars with the dash sensor at the back of the block. Cars with the dash sensor in the thermostat housing may show a temperature closer to that of the ECU.

The exact figures for the thermostat operation are:-

20v opening at 81°-85°
20v Turbo opening at 86°-90°
On both engines the thermostat will be fully open at 101°-105°

16v opening at 81°-85°
16v Turbo opening at 86°-90°
On both engines the thermostat will be fully open at 89°-93°

Extract from the FAQ which evidently does not mention operating temp
