baileys dv26 not making pssshhhh noise :( #397499

Iv just fitted a baileys dv26 dump valve to my 16vt coupe, and followed instructions completly, but its not making that pssshhhh noise \:\(
any ideas why this could be?

Have you fitted in the same place as the original dv?

yeah its basically replaced the bosch dv, vacuum line is all connected and hose clips are tight...

Well if it's the same as a 20vt, you've got it wrong.
Where you have the blanker now is where you should fit the atmos dv.
You have your dump valve & blanker the wrong way round.
They are opposite the to original dump valve

well just to double check. when i put the throttle on you can see the spring moving in the dv. so something is happening. the blanker wont fit in the other hole surely?
so the dv needs to go into the rubbery hose rather than the solid one... sorry if im being really dumb here, instructions seem to have it all wrong then \:\(

As richard says "You have your dump valve & blanker the wrong way round" the spring will operate when the engine is running as it works off the vacuum line \:\)
