Ok I have split this thread here so new people don't have to read 6 pages of us deciding when/where to meet

As is stands now, we plan to meet in Keswick (north lakes) on the 6th October for a drive around the local area and a possible visit to 'The cars of the Stars' museum. Some are also planning staying overnight in Keswick. Put you name down if you are interested Mitch

No where expensive, as its only a hotel.

This Place Right on the high street in keswick still has 8 double rooms left for the 6th at £43.00 per person Bed and Breakfast. Even has it's own night club open till 3:00 Says minimum stay 2 nights but you never know.

I haven't called them or anything - just checked on line

Probably a safe bet to book into that hotel.

Also, there's a pretty good choice of pubs and restaurants in Keswick, so there should be enough booze to keep cowboy fuelled through the night.

But - you routefinders (Mitch, Pag, Redline) Ross or someone suggested we meet at the north lakes then it's not quite as far for the Scottish guys'

Defo. Reason for top of the lakes is because some of the aberdeen guys are comming this time, and its 150 miles from aberdeen to me. So they will probably do around 250miles down.

How about this for our circular route with pubs evenly spaced.Keswick through Borrowdale to Seatoller,over the Honister pass to Buttermere and on to Cockermouth.Return route from Cockermouth via the Winlatter pass and back to Keswick,a round trip of approx 35 miles with a stop for lunch en route and would still give us time to visit cars of the stars.

Yeah looks a great route to me. I've been the lakes plenty times and never been those places.

Will the Coops be alright with those passes? I've been over Wrynose pass in my Brava once and I don't think a coupe could do it

Are we set then? If so I'll book in to the Hotel C2D pointed out, like the thought of an onsite Disco. I heard a rumour that Cowboy can't drink to I need to investigate further...

yup there should not be any problem with the passes,the Whinlatter pass is 2 lanes, i mean normal 2 lanes.the rest is fairly narrow particularly in Borrowdale,but hey this is the lakes,great scenery and great pubs.
