Hmm quite a few familiar names from the past in that thread. Still the same rude comments from others, but it's to be expected really. The coupe is a marmite thing, not everyone will like it

Hold on guys, comparing the comments it's us who seem to be the ones who are blinkered? In general the comments they have made have been pretty fair as one make forums go IMO.

It will still be dull to drive! I've tracked both, back to back. My dad also has a scoob, and mates have owened EVO's.
Scoob is for 'dads' - cheap to run, reliable, dull.

I think the Coupe's looks are spolit by the nose/grill area. It does make the car ugly; It has often been a thought of mine that the nose ought to be restyled. It ought not come in so far as it does, and the gril area should lean forwards a little.
This would visualy lighten the car a lot.
The rear of the car by comparison is very clean and flowing.

My thread on OcUK even got a mention I seriously thought about getting a Scoob, but they are very thirsty and tbh they do have a bit of an 'image' problem, certainly where I live anyway.

My Mrs has an Octavia estate and it's a great car, perfect for the sprog and dog Also very well built and reliable. I looked at the VRS Octavia as I certainly have no qualms about owning one, but they really aren't that quick, in standard form at least and they are quite bland.

LOL - I thought the coop was rather weird looking at first. The looks really grow on you....
I've never been one to buy anything because of it's image - I really dont care much for what other people think of the my car...they can slag off the FWD as much as they like, and the FIAT badge, etc. etc. if it did bother me I would be driving a BMW 3 series convertible or a boxster. Above all I like to be different, and I'd have a scooby over a BMW any day - if a P1 had been the same price as the coop when I bought one then I'd probably have a 4cyl engine now.....

The coupe can look very different from different angles so there are bound to be a few angles which dont compliment it so well. It also looks much nicer in reality than it does in a picture, cant say the same about scoobs and evos even though they are still great cars.

Driving down to swanage last weekend we got stuck in a fair bit of traffic and i did notice alot of people looking at the coupé. Now it could have been for any of the reasons listed below: 1. It's sprint blue and has a warbly 3" exhaust. 2. Passenger was wearing a comedy groucho face kit. 3. There was a very good looking blonde driving the car.

Surely a scooby can still be a money pit? I also like scooby's and even sugested getting one due to it ticking the boxes and being a 4dr saloon. My wife however said 'Nope' and didnt exactly praise their image. Each to their own

I dont know how anyone can find the Coupe ugly! I think its a gorgeous car. When I come down my street in my dads car and I see my girl (I wish it was a real girl LOL!) parked there, it stands out more so than any beamer or merc would parked in the same place (or scoob for that matter!) Coupes are much more exclusive than most other cars on the road, when I see people look at mine I can tell theyre thinking "oooooh whats that?" because theres simply so few of them about. One thing I will say about some scoobs...is that when one comes down the road, im looking in the sky for a friggin spitfire! So loud lol. Its nice to see some scoob owners praising our car though, fills me with pride

Do you really think the Coupe looks great from all angles though? Some it looks great, but at others it almost looks like a completely different car.
