Going to look into getting an exhaust made up for the coop this week, just wondering what people recommend - bore/no of silencers etc.

No need for a cat, after it bein noticeably louder but not ott.

Engines going to be kept pretty standard for the moment, only taken as far as stage1 at most. Not sure on turbo, will investigate that further. Engine in question is the 8v Lancia Integrale engine.

Cheers
James

Well i suppose it would depend if you want to mod it further at any point, else you will end up spending more money than necessary.

Else, just go 3" bore from turbo back with one or two silencers, I have one on my 3" system and it is quiet, where as some people will have 3" and one silencer and booms like anything!

Been quoted £375+vat for a stainless system with a back box. Going to take some fiddling to get it round the drive shaft and dif.

Thats from just after the downpipe from the turbo, before the flexi joint.

Sound about right?

Sounds ok, but you really want to be replacing the downpipe if anything, this is where you will yield the most power

Hmmm..... longlife i would be a bit wary of, i know back in the day they do crushed bends and not mandrel bends, which isn't really good for flow

Longlife do mandrel bends now and I thought the quality of their work was pretty good when I clambered underneath Alessandro's car.

I got mine from stealth systems in southampton. There have only been two of us who've had exhausts done there with rather 'interesting' expereinces. The quality of the work though is second to none. I've had a number of people compliment the work.

dont bother with longlife around cardiff mate they botched an exhaust on my citroen zx 16v a few years back and i wouldent take another car back there!

if you come down to cardiff the best bet is for me to meet up with you and take you to a mates place called pro-speed!

he has over 15 years experience and is by far the best and cheapest around here!
