Just in case its useful to anyone, here are the quotes I have got from the usual suspects:

CAR
2000 V, 20vt[6], value £5000

ME
30yr Male, sp30 (3 points), 1 "fault" claim (theft from car), 6yrs NCB protected + wife on policy

COVER
Fully Comp, Business Class 1 (commuting to more than 1 office), 7000 miles pa

Admiral "Uncompetitive"
Adrian Flux £1300
Confused.com (can't remember insurer) £870
Bell Direct £840
ASDA £756
Tesco £723
Greenlight £599
Noel Dazely £519

Reasonably happy with the Noel Dazely price which I will be going with.

the best is admiral, who happen to be my current insurers, for £809 which is only £185 more than 3rd party fire and theft so not bad
