The Lancia Kappa had the full on 220bhp unit, the Marea and Lancia Thesis have the low power 185bhp version.

The engine is modular which means there are bits the same from a bunch of other engines. The idea was that it could be made in capacities of
- 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 in 4 cylinder petrol using 83mm bore and varying stroke (75.65, 82, 90.4mm if I remember rightly
- 1.9 in 4 cylinder diesel using a 82x90.4mm stroke
- 2.4 in 5 cylinder diesel using 82x90.4mm stroke
- 2.0 in 5 cylinder petrol using 82x75.65mm stroke
- 2.4 in 5 cylinder petrol using 83x90.4mm stroke

The differences are the 4 cylinder block uses a secondary balancer shaft, the 5 cyl does not. The early JTDs used a 8v or 10v head (for 4 or 5 cyl) although the late ones moved to 16v or 20v respectively

The modular engines were used across the whole Lancia, Fiat and Alfa range from 1995ish onwards. The only other families are the smaller fiat engines, the V6s and the new vauxhall derived engines (2.2 4 cyl and 3.2 V6).

No to mention a couple of Mk1 Punto's which are rolling around with 20VT conversions.

Non OE of course.

The height of the blocks differ between the 75.65 and 90.4mm strokes so your pistons would end up hitting your head if you tried that in a 20V or 20VT block. Anyway the compression ratios are all different as well. The crank clearancing is different as well

The modularism mainly means they can use some of the same parts across non-turbo applications and they can use the same engine mounts and gearboxes etc etc. same pistons and rods for 4 cyl and 5 cyl as long as they have the same stroke, same valves, same timing variators etc. etc.
