Right..I need proof that the strip across the dash is actually metal.
About 6 of my friends wont believe me, they're convinced its plastic. Its really winding me up lol.

How can I prove once and for all that its metal? (without demolishing my own dash)

The strips on the doors definitely are, so think the dash strip must be too

AFAIK the dash part is metal but the door ones are plastic, but I'm sure MrT will be along to confirm either way.

Then ones that came out of my coop when I swapped to leather doorcards were definitely metal...good clang when chucked into the recycling dumpster

My tomtom GPS receiver has a magnetic back-plate which sits very neatly on the dash strip

They're not: plasticine doesn't corrode
