what brake pads is everyone using? at the min, i'm running brembo pads, i want to know what pads are good with a plain faced disc (i'm not into drilled or groved).

i've had the following ideas.....

Performance friction carbon metalic (i know i'll need to re-furb my wheels every week)
Brembo (again)
Mintex 1155's on the front and 1144's on the rear

is there any other GOOD pads on the market?

like i say....what do you use and how would you rate them?

oh and....my car will probably never go on a track, it's for road use only

I use the mintex's with standard discs was running novitec and prv@1.2bar on standard turbo and had no problems except when fitting the front ones, had to grind quite a bit off to get them to fit! Performance wise they seem adequate for the cars power!

Craig, read the pagid group buy thread and you can see the opinions of what everyone thinks of certain pads, since Nigel has just about killed every set ever made <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Go read the thread, there is loads on offer to choose from. There is the basic to the full on nutter 900degree pads. Honestly, go and read the thread, Nigel has typed out what all the pads are and what uses they are good for

Now I use Mintex but during track days I use Carbotech Panther Plus. You can use the Carbotech all the time if you want to. They just tend to scream a little bit in low speeds.

Used ebc yellowstuff this time, after 400 miles use they seem pretty good, compared to mintex 1144 or 1155. 98 quid though

LE Disc's and Pagid Blue pads on the front
Standard rear brakes, with pagid pads on the standard rear discs.
All fitted by the previous owner!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

They only squeal the odd time, like stop/start or town driving,
but I'm fitting my S/S shims in them tomorrow anyway!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
