Ive got a green 16vt with 90k on it i bought off here.

The car is honestly very straight and the engine is superb, just swapped the turbo as the old one had blown.

Full history, keys etc etc.

Only problem which wasn't mentioned is it crunches into 3rd if your not gentle with it. So probably the selector on the box worn or worse case new box time. I will check it first though. The slave seems a little dicky.

Its a shame to hack it, as for a 16vt it is very good and has alot of potential in the right hands. Everything from wishbones to clutch have been done.

So for what £950 is it worth selling as is? I can get £800 for the lump as soon as someone needs one, there super rare now.

Or am i just opening myself upto a bunch of loosers at that price expecting to see a 8k Plus?

I'd like to see it go back into use as it could be a very very nice one when done. Seems a shame to hack a perfectly straight original car up.

Its basically taxed and mot'd and essentially ready to go, just as all the other cars are, its just like the rest for sale, but has the bonus the important bits are right.

If anyone reads this and is interested drop me a call on 07749 069 057 for a chat. Im not shifting on the price though.

Sounds like a total bargain for someone. Like you say seems to shame to hack it up if it's a perfectly useable car with no major issues. I guess you could supply a good box for it if needed anyway?

Yeh sure could.

Its just in the condition they all are, the usual 2k 16vt. But sadly im a fussy swine so its just not for me. \:\(

Its cheap, certainly is.

Driving it i really think the slave may be the issue the pedal is just very weak.

From what I saw of that one, (assuming it is the same one) it needed a couple of bits to be a sound car. I'd say if you've got the bits, fix it and sell it on. Sounded quite tidy, but it had been usurped by a 20VT... \:\)

But at least its not porto \:D

Sell it, Shame to hack one thats still working and in good condition.

There is one up the road to me in same colour that I keep meaning to look at.

Not my favourite shade of green, but still worth it for 1k.

Hack it and keep other 16VT boys on the road, I believe this is an unselfish statement ! by the way I'll have the radiator and propably some other stuff.

Yes im sure the mod who offered me £1000 for one and waited and waited but i couldn't find anything would support that too.

Also a chap recently came over and offered £950 if i broke one up, so i did and off went the engine.

One of motormech's customers paid £700+ vat.

Of course only the best fetch that, i couldn't sell the usual dogged on its last legs 0.5 bar idle engine for that.

20vt engines are now £800+ vat and again sold out and needing 4 more.

Yeh they are in real demand. I can just imagine how many times ill get asked just hours after i sell this car. \:mad\:

Lot of shitters about though there's some real horrors of people buying proper dogged ones, one chap up your direction paid £1200 for one, it ran for 2 hours and started knocking \:mad\: i blamed him not even cleaning the oil cooler out though after the old engine spun itself! That was from a huge salvage yard, done 43k allegedly i remember \:D

People who have owned there cars for years are happy to at least find something, forget the cost. Not everyone just throws them away when the blow up.

Trouble is, as you well know, whats left of any value after the engine on a 16vt? Nothing else is really in demand so they have to fetch that to make the cars worth throwing away.
