Hi, i have run my new hybrid in now for 2k miles (don't want to break another one ) i had it at 0.9/0.85 bar, i have turned it up to 1/1.25bar is that ok to run that on a standard chip and tune. I will get my fmic on soon and its going round donnington in 4 weeks. Is it ok to run that boost or should i drop it back to 0.9 bar. Thanks Ash

Standard boost is 0.9 bar and can overboost to around 1.2bar+ IIRC. I'm running a hybrid without FMIC and following Roger at Powerfiat's advice, I have it at 1.1bar. He said it can be slightly higher when cold but probably best to keep it at 1.1bar just to be safe and then go to 1.25 or 1.3 bar when you get the FMIC.
I'm not sure if a standard chip will give enough fueling for anything over 1bar though. Go for a G-tec to be safe.
F****** b****** thing...

dont run 1.2 bar in this weather (wait until it's colder) run a g-tech chip & get your fuelling checked on an rr

Standard boost is 1 bar - can overboost to 1.4
A hybrid will hold boost at the top end much better than the standard unit - so demand for fuel is going to be higher, so get a gtec chip and then a fuelling check on a RR. On the standard turbo the standard chip can fuel 1.1 bar.
I would not go over a bar of boost (peak in 4th gear) until you have uprated the cooling. IMO to be safe you should only be going for uprated turbos when the cooling is sorted anyway, though there is an arguement that a roller bearing at 1.0 bar will produce less heat than a hybrid at higher boost, and therefore there is less need for cooling the charge temps.
If you are taking the car on track without a fuelling check then I hope you have a couple of grand set aside for a re-build....

For those who run a Gtec chip, and have had the fuelling check done, what has the check shown?? In general does the fuelling need to be changed or does the car 'in general' run ok without making changes. I plan on rr my car, but can't do it for a month or so, am I running a risk?

It will vary from car to car so you can't go by otherpeople's findings. Yes - the car should be fine, but without a RR check the answer to your question is YES, you are taking a risk, so keep the boost down until you get it on a RR

I sry made a mistake, its running 1 bar to 1.025 bar wouldn't run 1.2 bar in it as i know it would go bang. I have dropped it back down to 0.9 bar. Doesn't go aswell though Thanks for your replys
