It does look nice in the photos but the only real way to tell is go and have a look with a copy of the buyers guide from here in your hand............ The given wisdom is that the coupé doesn't like sitting around not being used so low mileage ones can have a few issues through lack of use, so be very careful. Oh, and if you do buy it, check the oil level constantly! Or buy a known decent one from Carlt on here, and sleep easy at night knowing all the big stuff has been done. Finally, welcome to the forum!

Welcome aboard. Solo Italia tend to deal with Knackered or damaged coupes, and while they have been repaired by them the cost of the coupe should be alot less than they charge given the cars history.
When looking for any car, watch out for accident damage, and if its too good to be true then it usually is.Theres loads of stuff to watch out for when buying a coupe,so its best to get one from a known user off this forum. You pay more but the work has been done.Low mile stuff is always suspect as the coupe is so easy to clock. Pm Carlt and wait patiently as he always has good coupes. He doesnt touch the rubbish.

thanks you guys!
I have had a 20v coupe for 3 years now and no problems. Its been great fun. I have been watching this site for the same time and because you seem so helpful I got round to asking stuff. I'd love to try a 20vt.

I don't think it's particularly fair to say that they "tend to deal" with knackered and damaged coupes. I know they do some damage repaired cars, but the vast majority are straight cars, with all the jobs done.
I was chatting to Rick the owner the other week, and he had shifted 6 that week. For all the comments on here about them being expensive, that would suggest to me that the people that matter (those with the cash to spend) would disagree.
My worry in your case sbro, would be that they are at the other end of the country.

I got mine from Solo Italia and while it's not been as reliable as my previous Goof it doesn't seem to have been any worse that other owners going by comments on here! I think there's another thread on here somewhere about Solo Italia with some good comments about him.

Their business is selling these types of cars and they're one of the few places where you can walk in and leave with a coop that's not about to throw a belt or if it does, they'll fix it. Of course they're premium prices, but that's what you're paying for. It's not like they ever hide the fact a car is a D or even a C is it?

Absolutely, I bought mine from there nearly a year ago, and the only problem I had was throwing a aux belt, which they replaced FOC. I needed to book it in for a service, and they had no space for 2 weeks or so, but I'd rather book it in to busy garage than one sat doing nothing. When it did go in, they found a few little jobs that needed doing, and stayed til 7pm to get them done.
Going through the wodge of history I got with it, for servicing, they are a damned site cheaper than a certain other specialist not a million miles away from here I could mention!

I think alot of the resentment is people don't like people making money. I get that feeling when i sell mine, its all about what did i pay for it, not what ive done or effort put in, how much am i making, and well if you have any common sense there isnt much to be made on an average 3k coupe with all the work done is there. If people are concerned and more interested in the "mark up" as they put it, well intercourse off anf buy a shitter private You all see the before and after with solo italia like myself, but you miss the in between bit, the hard work that makes the before become the after. Neither of us pick the cars up in the condition you all imagine and we both do one hell of alot of work to get them how they are! And it cheeses me how you all moan he sells Cat C and D stuff, christ you need a wake up call. He sells them and DECLARES it, where's the problem. They dont have to be a percentage cheaper, its down to the car. All cars have had a bump or a knock just most are too blind to see it. So what. Car doesnt need to be cheaper if its in as good or better condition as something unrecorded. Give Solo some credit for declaring them, unlike alot of sellers both trade and private.

Saw this today when picking up a part for my Coupe. It looks really really good stunning bodywork and interior as you would expect with this sort of mileage. Kind of thinking of a way to pay for it.
