Yes you'd need wobble bolts but it's not just about the PCD. What's the bore size of the wheels and offset?

Nick you need to consider not only the pcd (4x100) but also the bore size as Matty says - you can change this using different size spigot rings as the incorrect bore wont centre/align your wheel properly.
You also need to consider the offset/et as this is important to ensure the wheels do not foul on your arches or suspension components.
I think the ideal for your car is 4x98 (can use 4x100 with wobbly bolts) - bore 58.1 - et 35 to 38.
The E30 bore is 72.6 or something and the et is 15 to 18 I think - they wont centre properly and its likely imho that they would foul the arch. IMHO.

Et 35-45 will fit. I have 4x100 et 45s with the correct spigot rings on my car and they're ok.
Do not even attempt to put wheels on your car and drive it without the correct spigot rings.

Nick, as I understand it, and I stand to be corrected but the LOWER the et number the closer the wheel will be to your arches, the HIGHER the et the closer the wheel will be to your suspension components. http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/tyre_bible.html'If' (?) that is true and Ive understood it correctly then an et of 10 plus the addition of 10mm spacers will push the wheel too far toward the arch. Have a read on that link and see what you think.

what are the widest tyres any one has fitted on the rears (without problems)? Nick,,,,,
Also will having wider tyres on the back make the car handle differently (worse)?????

could i fit 8.5x17 et13 on the back of the car and 7.5x17 et20 on the fronts (will be using 10mm spacers) Nick I would say no, and if you did not with the spacers as they just move the wheels further out - 15-20ET is already way out. I only run 7.5x17 with a 215/40 but et is 35, I recon with a 8.5" rim at a et of 13 it would foul the archs even without the spacers, but I have never run this wheel so I could be wrong, but really you need to test fit. Looking at Markus who knows but he may have modded the archs ???

WELL..... i,ve bought the wheels, need to work out what size tyres to put on the rears if i have 215 40's on the front????, think somebody has already suggested 225 35/40's. i'd really like 235's or 245's... Could i go for these... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2453517-245-35-17-...1QQcmdZViewItemNick...
