Right to the 16vt owners can someone answer me these please as I'm off to look at 1 tommorrow and wanna check everything's cool.
Oil temp on the gauge, what should be when running normal operating temps?
Oil pressure, what it should be on cold when driving, on warm when driving and then on idle and on full throttle when warm?
Water temp, what should it be at before the fan kicks and at normal operating temp when driving?
I'm pretty sure that's it.
Cheers guys!

Oil temp on the gauge, what should be when running normal operating temps?
They normally run around 60 to 80 degrees. Oil pressure, what it should be on cold when driving, on warm when driving and then on idle and on full throttle when warm? Cold driving 3bar which is the max the gauge shows. Hot driving indicated 3 bar over about 2000 rpm, max pressure is actually 5.5bar at 4000rpm at 100c according to Fiat specs. Hot idle, fiat specs say minimum 1.1 bar at 100c, perceived wisdom on this site is for a minimum of 1.5 bar normal hot idle. Water temp, what should it be at before the fan kicks and at normal operating temp when driving? Fan cuts in 1st stage 90-94c 2nd stage cuts in 95-99c. This is driven by a different temperature sensor to that of the gauge. Normal coolant operating temperature is around 85c on the gauge. Have a read in the FAQs section about buying a coupe too if you've not already done so. Pete

Excellent, thanks Pete.
I've taken lots of notes from the buyers guide to take with me tommorrow and also taken note of all the readings you've given me there.
I'm taking a friend of mine who is a mechanic of 12 years so touch wood it could be good or it could be a pig, ill find out soon!
If you have any other tips please let me know

Well on my car the gauge sits around 1 bar - 1.2 bar on idle and sits well on 3 and above when revving beyond 2k

mine flickers between 0.5 and 1.5 on hot idle depending on the gradient the car is sat on, weird cold idle is a healthy 3 and it usually sit there when cruising at 60.

Mine is exactly the same as that DanDan! Weird flickery thing, at one point in even went to zero for a second on idle then shot straight up as soon as I pressed the pedal

I sometimes see quite a low revs when the fan kicks in and thats often the time the oil pressure will be at it's lowest!
