Like most people the two sets of buttons on my console had come a little loose in the previous owners care.
So I thought time to try and sort it. Upon removing the console I see a previous owner has done a Jim will fix it job
So I think okay no problem put it back together and a few days later someone pushes the buttons a little too hard and they go through
So time for a new console I think, realising I am a perfectionist I decide new is the way to go. After looking around the best price is a shade over £200! (A silver one was available from AA for £110) So once I have picked myself up off the floor I get one ordered (this is not as simple as it should be) After a period of a broken one late delivery much swearing by me though mostly by Rog of PowerFiat
one arrives!
Finally! So I began thinking (This was mainly spurred on by the price I might add) how it came about I needed a new one. Lots of thought was given too how I could stop this happening again. After some not so succesful ideas (I would like to take credit for this but I cannot!) It was proposed to use heavy duty oxygen tubing (thanks mum!) to protect the console from damage! So a perfect fit was found and here we go!
Reinforcements Reinforcements Reinforcements Reinforcements This tubing is tight around the screw holes and will hopefully stop the spliiting which is extremely common.
So take this console and one replacement
switch as the red had faded (thanks Carlt and bugger off Fiat £90 for a set of switches!) a few of
these and finally a little of
this to try and seal the deal.
All done, hopefully this will stall/stop the breaking switches
One point though is, the console is for a Climate Control Coupe as can be seen by the deals showing temperature. However Fiat acompany it with
this Not including the AC switch so I have to use the old switch mechanism!!
