Hi,

I should be getting my Apexi boost controller fitted tomorrow, can anyone suggest where to put it in the car?
I live in a bit of a dodgy area so on the dash is out of the question for me as kids will not understand it is no use without the wires!
I was thinking about putting it where the astray is the only thing is I guess i'll have to look down everytime I want to see what its trying to tell me!?
Anyway any suggestions are appreciated!

Cheers
John

PS
Is it worth having a standard boost gauge (non electronic) fitted if you have an electronic boost controller or is this just over kill and the usual coupe paranoia?
For some reason in the back of my head Im thinking the electronic boost controller could mess up and give a false boost reading, so i'll be driving around thinking wow I trashed that BMW M5 with 1.2bar boost when really im running 1.8bar and about to fork out £2000 in engine repairs! .

Stick it in your glovebox if you are in a dodgey area and dont want it to be nicked out of the car, then when you are driving you open the glovebox so that you can see what boost you are running at.

The ashtray is arguably the best place to put it as you can (if your prepared to completely dismantle the cover plate)cover the controller after you leave the car. Jamiepm is going to put his up on the sunvisor so you might want to message him if you are considering that route.

you can fit the the ashtray, if your clever when fitting you can even close the ashtray quite easily.

alternatively sling it in the glove box when you park, just as you would the stereo face

Hi,

just a quick thank you to all of you for the suggestions, had it fitted and set up on Tuesday!
I went for fitting it on the dash in the centre (thanks Barbz!), maybe a bit messy with the wire hanging down but think I prefer to be able to see it all the time!
It was a bit hairy setting it up on the motor way at 11pm with lots of help from Barbz but well worth it despite the warped brake discs I now have, the girlfriend stayed silent in the back with a look of fear on her face and my hands haven't stopped sweating!
Im itching to jump in the coupe for the journey to work tomorrow!

Cheers
John

PS
Special thanks to Barbz for the all the help!
