Going to be getting a new exhaust made up over soon - fingers crossed. Been told it would be a good time to get a better down pipe as the one fitted is a bit restrictive.
Any info much appreciated. Cheers James.

4 stud? It's either 3 stud like the T3 coupe / integrale turbos, or 5 stud with the GT28 / GT30's. Some of the GT turbo have 4 stud, but only when there isn't an internal wastegate

hmm, the down pipe comes from a square plate with what looks like 4 studs holding each corner. Had a quick look... cant see the rear near side bolt but feels like there is one. from underneath though one looks like a bolt, instead of a nut on a stud. if that makes sense. will stick a pic on photobucket shortly http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/jayfreeride/DSC05962.jpg

you're both right... Begbie is more right though coupe_integrale: what you're showing is the dp AFTER the VERY restrictive elbow that does the three stud to the photoed 4stud thing. You should replace ALL your downpipe from turbo down if it's going to make some serious difference. V.

right, i'm with you now. Thanks for all the info. Just had a look during the day and see the 3 stud joint.
So where do I go to find an new complete less restrictive DP?
Also with a 3in system" without cat how loud they? The original plan was to keep it straight through with a back box wedged between the dif and rear bumper, would this be stupid loud?
Cheers again

My 3" system with 1 back box and a tiny box where the de-cat is quiet as. I can hear the turbo spool up over the exhaust and isn't boomy at all.
To get a complete 3" system, your going to have to take the car to an exhaust place and get them to fabricate one up for you. No chance of buying an off the shelf unit i'm afraid

Good news, Already been for quotes at getting the system made up and work out routing etc but only the end of the DP. Most local places wouldn't go anywhere near the turbo. Don't suppose you could recommend anyone? (west mids area)

I don't know where blueflame are based? Other wise it would be Howard and Scott (essex), or Stealth Systems (southampton) I don't understand why they wont go near the turbo, if they are making the down pipe, all they have to do is extend it up, put a 90 degree bend in it, flair out the pipe and fit a 3 stud flange to it. Oh, i also hope it has been including a 3" flexi in it too?
