Ive had a peco stainless steel system on my coupe for two years now but it has never been loud enough for me. I know your all going to say that a peco is loud, but believe me mine is no louder than a standard exuast. Can anyone recommend me somthing.

3" straight through with no cat from blueflame or similar.

if thats not enough, try a custom side exit with no silencers and an external wastegate with screamer pipe.

Personally I like my powerfiat one box item, it was a bit loud for the first 500 miles but now it is exaclty how I want it. Gives a little burble on tickover and at low speed but soon goes away when crusing - i.e cant hear it at motorway speeds at all. Yet when I open the tapes its nice and loud but you can still hear the engine too smile

Sounds great along walls/tunnels.

3" turbo back can be a bit boomy at certain speeds, if I floor it in 5th between 60 and 70mph then it drones. I dont mind it but a lot of people prefer a 2.75" downpipe for this reason.

Also isnt there NO point running a 3" system unless you have 300bhp++? Surely you want some back pressure etc.

Do you think I'd be better off with a 2.75" downpipe then?

would a 3" downpipe going to 2.75" not be a better option?

do you need backpressure with turbo cars?
i know you do with n/a but i had always thought the idea after a turbo was just to get the gas out as quick and easy as poss!

Got that wrong way round. No back pressure with N/A and just a small amount with a Turbo engine.
As long as the Turbo is healthy, seals will be fine. Its when you start to over boost that blows them.

No back pressure needed with an N/A? Are you having a laugh? Unless im losing my marbles, if you take all the boxes and the cat outta an exhaust on an N/A and increase the size, hence reducing the back pressure it makes it worse to drive without the proper amount of backpressure.

However, with a straight through exhaust like i run on my coupe i have, the car is faster, spools quicker and no driveability lost.

Ok Ross.
An engine makes all its power on the down stroke. If there is back pressure, the waste gasses cannot scavenge from the cylinder quick enough due to it pushing on back pressure. So engine tuners design in a pocket, that the waste gasses can fill. this is called a collector. If there is back pressure, there is a likely hood of crosstamination of gasses between cylinders. This can wreck a new charge, and reduce power, or even make it run lean!! It pops back up through the valve which is dangerous.
Running to big a bore on an N/A engine to the tail pipe, can slow up the gasses and increase back pressure, and this reduces Torque. Hope this is understandable.
