Hi, been reading a lot of posts but it's not clear to me yet.... car as it is now:

Novitec chip (should give me 235 bhp @ 1,3 bar), Forge DV, PRV (no EBV), boost set a 1 bar but runs fine with 1,2 bar(fueling still ok). The chip should be able to handle a max boost arround 1,45 bar. Besides that car is standard.

I cant figure out what is the best mod to do? Dont want to replace turbo since its in good health so IC must be the most obvious part to change, right?

Which IC type should I go for? As far as I can read I would get best result with a better SMIC like PACE. Target is a faster 0 to 100 mph car and top end power is not that important, ie does not matter if car can go 140 or 160 mph.

Are there others and better SMICs than PACE?

Would a PACE SMIC perform better with a straight induction setup?

What should max pressure be with a PACE SMIC (guess it can handle a bit higher flow than standard IC?)

What exhaust size would fit best, standard is 2" right? so it could be 2,25 or 2,5" Wont go to 3" since it may kill turbo seals

Target is as mentioned a faster 0 - 100 car with 250-260 bhp and a turbo pressure that wont kill engine (guess 1,2 to 1,3 is max) and it must be legal (no decat).

with the straight induction pipe and filter it will actually replace the space the existing smic takes up.so if you want a sip you will need a fmic

If your spending the money then go for a fmic, the side mounts are rubbish and not much better than the stock ones.
With the fmic you will see much improved reduced intake temps.

Ok so eventhough I just want fast accl. up to lets say 100 mph and as little lag as possible a FMIC with SIP is the best option? Got a little confused by reading this http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=412892&fpart=1 where someone states that SMIC and chargecooler is much better than FMIC but as I can see its also much more expencive.

To avoid lag I should go for a FMIC not to big? Which would be the best? And a SIP option like the proalloy (if it fits a 16VT?)

no it isn't - I used to have the SMIC and CC combo - now I have the ProAlloy FMIC

The latter is far better at keeping chargetemps down

If you're going to go for a small turbo (super/ultraspool) a Pace SMIC + Chargecooler might be the better option if you want it to spool up a bit earlier (the FMICs seem to push their powerband out a bit), although as has been said already, the FMIC is better for cooling.

Its supposed to run with standard 16VT turbo but I was unsure weather a SMIC would be better than FMIC considering lag when target was fast accleration and not high end power. My target is the 250-260 bhp that the engine and turbo can provide without big and expensive mods to engine.

But as I can read from your posts the best option is FMIC and SIP (which will reduce lag from the bigger IC compared to standard IC). I'll just go for Timpeyons FMIC kit and a SIP (which SIPs are there that will fit a 16VT or do I just have to put filter where standard IC is now?)

I've been told much the same thing as I'm looking for a similar set up - fast spool up and usable power. Waiting on a price for a FMIC at the moment (unless a c/c and smic come up at the right price) and then take it from there.
