My Dad has one of those for all his numerous projects he`s got on the go but so far it`s only his mate has used it for restoring an old mini. I think he found it to be very handy but I don`t know if I would trust my Coop on one . Baz

I'd love a go at using one. But I dont know how far I'd trust it with my coop.

Wow that does look useful, but it only holds and supports the car from then front and rear wheel hubs? I'd be paranoid about that damaging the wheel bearings or the ball joints. But the hubs are holding the weight of the car anyway (arguably more if you take cornering forces into consideration) the only difference is it`s just the fixing points of the frame not the wheels that the hubs are bolted onto . Yes, wouldn't worry about damage to wheel bearings, the loads exerted during normal driving will be far more than having the car on one of these stands. I know quite a few people who are using these to restore cars on and they are very useful, especially if you have some major work to do underneath. I'm using a similar home made frame for my Mini. mini 1 mini 2 mini 3 mini 4

ok ok... it looks tempting, but tell me this.... why are there no photos of on in use on a heavy or expensive car? all the pics i've seen have been older lighter classic cars, all predating side impact protection crumble zones and airbags. sho me a pic of one in use on a volvo V70 and I might trust it

Who's gonna restore a volvo or similar of that age. I might sell mine off, its alot better than the one up there, and perfect, tried and tested for the coupe.

True, those volvos last a long time, weather you want them too or not. but if you do sell it, let me know how much you want for it as I might take it off your hands

The Italians certainly perfected them during the 70's and 80's

Hello Bernie!! How is the 124 project going? How many 124 sports do you have now??!! The cradle is a great way for restoration. Saves the car from getting stressed [rust can make the car unstable!! ] Think of the amount of jobs you can do underneath! Advice though, drop all fluids before you attempt to turn the cradle!!!!! Andy.

Andy. Hi Andy Can't hide anywhere!!!! 5 124's and working on 3 (2 spiders and a coupe) Besides the black coupe on the roll over, I've bought a new NBN spit type roll over cradle for the 71 spider.
