NA camshafts are often more aggressive than turbo camshafts so I thought that maybe there is a potential to hp increase tongue Or not! shocked
Is it possible to use the NA camshafts in a 20VT engine?

I'd like to know that too smile
I know that people use Audi Coupe 2.3 125kw NA (7A engine) cams for S2/S4/S6 2.2L Turbos and makes a huge difference.

very very unlikely as the 20V NA has shorter lift and duration on the inlet and exhaust. Anyway it is a budget approach to tuning when there are well proven aftermarket cams available for the 20VT.

JohnS, Have you tested Inlet NA camshaft on your engine?

This is done by the S13 crowd and also S14's using the SR20DE inlet. As well as the Vaux C20XE inlet cam in the C20LET.

It is also done by some of the integrale crowd using the Fiat Tipo cam

But it doesn't mean its the right thing to do and JohnS is right, there are enough 20vt cam options around that are proven to render this pointless

I thought there was only one cam option? i.e. C&B's which aren't as cheap as say kent cams.

Freddan, fair play for posing the question.

Kenno, there actually are more than one. Used called Nitrous (Cufaro Racing) sells some sort of cams also, 260deg I believe.. don´t know what to think of them to be honest.. But if I remeber they were quite well priced

Sada - okay so that's two sets of cams. But has anyone tested Nitrous' cams to see what improvement they make... if any?!

At least with a factory cam, you know the production quality can't be that bad. Aftermarket ones can be poor as they'll just made to a specific cost.

If you want cams then its C&B or stick with the originals. I've been there with re-grinds and they just wear out after a while. I would be intrested if anyone has tried out Nitrous's cams please post results.
