Right - odd title I know as I have been an evocars chip guy for as long as I have had the coupe.

The evocars chip is a great unit for a standard(ish) car with boost dropoff due to standard turbo etc, unfortunately it sounds much less suited to turbos that can hold big boost to redline

What i need is a 16VT chip that is mapped to 1.4bar throughout the rev range but that doesn't have the high advance like the evocars one. The standard chip runs for example 16degrees at 5000rpm compared to 10degrees for the standard chip at 1.4bar - its up to 10degree more in places

I am getting cams off barbz, but I need to reduce the advance up high for the cams,

VAS and other reckon I need to buy mapping equipment as I can't get it RR tuned here, which I agree with but to get me started so that the car will be safer does anyone know if the Novitec or squadra chips run more fuel and less advance

cheers

I'm sure someone on here could edit the evocars ignition timing and burn you a new chip?

I can make you a new chip, send the new ignition timing values (cause you already have the map) and i edit the Evocars and burn a new one with ignition changes

You've bought cams and yet you wont go to a proper ecu. Expect disappointment.

Cams cost are resonable, a new ECU is more like 750gbp-1000gbp setup

I plan to do mapping like Vas suggested using the wideband/Egt but I want something to get going in the mean time rather than continuing on the evocars.

I have plenty of friends with aftermarket ECUs (haltech/motec/link) and the cost and setup problems for all of them has been high so I would prefer to stay with the factory ECU as long as I can

Rich - I appreciate what you saying, always good advice, but Marcowind got 400BHP out of his 16VT on the factory ECU so i'm not sure the expense of an aftermarket ECU is nessecary

Paulinho, not quite sure what you mean, I have the files you sent but that is all.

I guess I want the factory map for ignition but with the evocars fueling values and mapped to 1.5bar , I believe the stock chip can't handle high boost (ie 1.4bar) at high revs rom the factory as the stock turbo can't hold more than 1 bar above 5500rpm.

That's more or less what I'm doing (slowly) now Paul.
I've already removed LOTS of advance from idle up to 1100rpm and the result is that the car starts v.easily from cold, pulls fine from cold and its OK when warm.
Following Dink's suggestions I'm using grale EVO2 advance map (and cutting even further at the top to get it safe for running 1.3-1.4bar)
Will be fitting a 4bar MAP sensor next week (which means that I can safely map and run 1.6-1.7bar with the adelco EBV working)
I think that you should just get at least an eprom writer and start burning chips, slowly learning in the process.

V.
