Hi, i fitted my hids about 3 months ago and have been working great, but recently i have noticed they aren't as bright as before and they seem to have a very deep blue tint. I brought the kit from turborevs and i thought it must be the bulbs are cheap ones as the kit was very cheap really (ballasts seem spot on)
My work mate has a leon fr with hids and when we both put our headlights on his are soooo much brighter an easy 50times brighter, you can't see mine for his frown

I was wondering about replacing the bulbs for better quality (Phillips/osram) ones but i don't know what type to get i know there h1's.

Any help would be appreciated as there not much brighten then my uprated halogen Phillips h1's.

Also i have cleaned the headlights and its not that smile

Thanks Ash

Are the headlight adjusters still plugged in? I left mine in when I fitted my HID`s and found the motors were operating every time I was switching on my lights.

When I checked the beam alignment and both my headlights were adjusted as far down as they could go. So I set the lights back up,disconnected the motors and they`ve been fine ever since cool .

Other than that, are you sure you`ve been supplied the temperature kit you asked for idea .

Baz smile

Both headlight adjusters work fine and are connected. the alignment seems ok too. Yeh on the box it said 6k so i think there right, i think the bulbs aren't great quality or its the wrong bulbs.
I have noticed though that the inside of my headlight covers look dirty is there a way to clean them.

Thanks for your reply baz

Ash

Can you borrow one of the Leon's bulbs, or give him one of yours? No idea if the cupra are H1 fitment but you could at least connect it to the ballast outside of the light unit and compare. Might tell you if the bulbs are dodgy or the ballasts are going downhill?

ur bulbs are dead. when they go they lose lumens and turn green-ish or blue-ish.

Think mine might be going the same way frown

Can you just change the bulbs, or is it a good idea to change whole kit?

Thanks they are only 2-3 months old frown the strange thing is tonight when i turned them on to come home they was nice and bright again and was white. But every other time they are not so bright and look a greeny blue, sometimes when i turn them on behind my sisters car her car turns browny green (its a bright orange grande punto) so there not getting to full brightness. Is this dodgey ballasts or my bulbs on the way. If its the blues or ballasts i will email turborevs about it.

Thanks Ash
