Hi all,

as some you might be aware I have bought my second coupe after mine was written off recently.
My old coupe did not have aircon and Initially I was after a new one with out it as I like to do some work myself.
I bought geoffp's car which was in the coupes for sale section and it has aircon.

I was just wondering how much of a challenge is having aircon when it comes replacing and fixing bits under the bonnet, does it really get in the way that much?

I haven't had time to fully explore under the bonnet but im off now for a few days and im starting to get that urge to have a play and break things such as original hose clips! \:D

Cheers
John

No not at all, hardly bothers me. Carnt think of any jobs where its an issue.

Apart from hacking sheds up with aircon and having to have the system degassed first \:\/

If you get some idiot to change your turbo or manifold etc. they'll probably take out your air con rad, charge you for a regas and mess up your seals. If you don't take it to an idiot - as above!

The only bother realy is when replacing the manilfold when you will need to make up a short allen key to enable the aux belt to be slackened. Otherwise I have found it easy enough to remeove the radaitor (with fans still attached) out of the top of the car and this then gives plenat of room for turbo owrk etc.

As above it makes changing the manifold a bit more hassle but as you dont do that every other week you learn to live with it. Also remove fans and radiator together makes for much happier fingers when changign turbos.
