Hey guys i dont know who can help, but im trying to soursce a good turbo, Im not looking for big power but i would like it to take a chip and possibly a decat in future, I also need to source aftermarket gaskets for it and a little more advice on fitting as ive read the guide but want to know of problems that could arise such as removing the manifold bolts etc and how long it should take to change?? Thanks Matt

Did you fit your own Gtir Webbo? In the past ive had experience of people saying theres no gaskets because from the manufacturers they dont have them............ However when refitting there have been aftermarket gasket sets produced THATS WHY I WANT TO BE SURE! that and the fact that a local company have told me they can supply the gasket set

Hi Matt. Sorry to lose it it just looked like you hadn't taken anything from the previous post where Jallen and me said no gasket and a GTiR is a straight fit Yeah I fitted my own, its a pretty easy job if you take your time. I would love to know what gasket set they are selling That list is for a considerably different non-direct fit turbo - the GT28R, not a GTiR

Understood it is good to get a second opinion on things Thats another reason the GT28R is a good option - its a new price not exchange, but it is a bit more complicated especially if you are in a hurry.

That ATP thread isn’t relevant as it’s a completely different turbo. You don’t need any gaskets. You can if you like fit a gasket between the manifold and turbo (one might be supplied with the turbo) but you do not need it. The only other thing you’ll need is copper washers for the banjo oil and water feed/drain fittings. That’s it.
ATP turbo thread is about GT28R turbos which have a 5-stud exhaust downpipe fitment and therefore need a gasket there and also need an adaptor on the inlet side to connect with the coupe inlet pipework so possibly a gasket there too.

Okey dokey thanks for the help guys, oh just thought.............. when you put a GTECH 1 on does that raise the boost somehow by itself?? or do you fit the Armval and raise the boost yourself? Matt

The gtech tries to raise the boost to 1.2 bar, but at the same time the EBV tries to keep it at 1 bar. I think this means that it can go up and down all over the place, so best to fit a PRV and bypass the EBV if you fit a gtech chip, then you can set the boost manually to what you want. You will need a boost gauge as well
