Mods delete this if its been done before...

I was just wondering if anyone on this site has had their coupe from new or nearly new (2 years max) I believe Barnacle has owned his since new but I'm not aware of anyone else? I'd have been 13 when they were first available so I'm ruled out of this one! smile

I know I wanted one, but even at 22, I certainly couldn't have afforded one.

So, err, NO here.

I've not had my coupé since new, as i could not drive when I was new. I could not walk or talk either crazy

I suppose i could now be described as slightly used. or pre-owned even and I've had my coupé getting on for four years now shocked

Almost, bought it as an ex-demo in 99.

It's only done 30k since then. A genuine low miler that has spent most of its time tucked up in a garage as I work offshore.

Carl would hate it.

DaveG also bought his nearly new so must have had it around eleven years.

I desperately wanted one when they came out but my company lease deal was way too much of an outlay at the time.

Just had me first nipper when they came out, and £23k or so wasnt in my budget at 21 smile

shame, cos Id have loved to have owned one from new . Its been an 11 year wait for family / car circumstances to come to the point where I can justify one smile

How shockingly young are some of you lot? I was 22 when the Coupe came out saw it at the NEC collected all the brochures/posters etc. Couldn't afford one until 2000 though when I bought a 3 year old 20VT. New ones were still available to order April 2000 (just). But I couldn't justify £20k for an NA let alone £22k for a 20VT.

Regarding collecting brochures... I bet I'm the only one here with the brochure from the Delhi Motor Show 1996 laugh

(They were being really mean about giving them away, but I must have looked a little more prosperous than the locals, who were bidding like mad to get the brochure off me smile (I hadn't the heart to tell the girl on the stand I already had one!))

Barnacle, would that brochure be scannable?
I have an August 1994 Autocar with the first drive of the Coupe and have done a bit of a rough scan of it if anyone wants it.
I got my '97 20VT with 24k on the clock in 2000.

Sadly, though I was hoping for a brochure in some exotic script, it turned out just to be the same as the English brochure frown

I got mine when it was a year old, with only 6000 miles on the clock. And I was a young man in my forties. Now done 108,000 miles but still going strong. Same for the car wink.
