Hi all, i have been running my car on what i know is a novitec chip. I have just fitted the gtec2 chip but to my surprise when i removed the novitec and put it next to me gtec2 chip they looked the same chip bar afew different numbers.
Heres a pic so you know what i mean- http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h227/YellowAshes/08122007070.jpg
Novitec is the chip on the left, gtec2 on the right

I was just wondering was it a gtec1, novitec or gtec2 chip i have been running. As i got the chip from johnnybravoturbo and he also had a gtec2 but couldn't remember which was which. Does anyone know if there is any visual differences between the chips without sending to grahaml to plug it in and check.

Thanks Ash

The Novitec is probably a copy - the originals tend to have stickers on them (but I guess these can be peeled of easily enough)

TBH, The G-Tec1 is pretty close to a Novitec anyway

There are no visual differences between the G-Tecs

Thanks Nigel, I am going to refit my ecu now and see what the difference is, if theres no difference then that chip must already be a gtec2. I think johnny got it off grahaml as a novitec before he got is live mapped, so thats probably why it looks similar to my other chip.

Yeah that makes sense ash. Graham has a store of blank chips.

Its all fitted now and there is defo a difference now smile Better off boost and feels a tad quick at 1 bar and seems to be getting better the more its been running. Was setting my boost controller upto 1.2 bar ready for the rolling road and its really quick when on 1.2, can't believe the difference from 1 bar to 1.2bar. But only running 1 bar till its rolling roaded.

Thanks for the replys.

Ash
