no problems for me so far either, normally my doors won't open but it hasn't happened 'yet'! well i just jinxed myself, now my alarm is playing up for some reason, my stereo takes about 15 seconds to play a song once i've selected it, and my fuel cap won't lock at the moment!

I discovered I had the frozen handbrake this morning, after 20 minutes of clearing ice of the windowss so had to walk to the station in the end anyway. Luckily the doors weren't frozen shut; that was last week

I havent had anything apart from a sticky door. It would have probably opened with a bit of force, but left it to defrost for a bit.
H/B is new so no problems. Dvd player doesnt like cold dvd's tho.

p.s. and my rachet refuses to work.

When my door was frozen shut last week, I could hear it unlock, but then lock again immediately. So I tried again and opened it quickly before it had the chance to lock and it was fine. I can't remember if I've tried this before but it worked for me on this occasion.

So what caused the flat battery? A quirk I must prepare for?!

I didn't use the car over the weekend so decided to give it a run late Sunday and discovered that the battery had no get up and go. So took it out overnight and re-fitted it Monday morning (7.30am!) in the cold. The alarm took exception to this and so decided to flash the hazards every few minutes while it was warming up and then generally have a strop till after I had gone home at lunchtime.

I've had absolutely no problems with my coop at all. But then I have been off work with a broken arm and unable to drive for the last 6 weeks

18 days away over Christmas and the Coupe has been sitting out in the cold. Minus 8 Deg. C this morning, the Subaru had already been run yesterday and the FIAT was sitting under a 4 inch blanket of white powder. No brainer, take the "clean" Subaru ...
It turns over but will not start. Hmm?
Go to the FIAT, brush it off, try to unlock the door - OK. Start it - OK. Handbrake - OK since new cables. Drive off - OK, except for rusted on pads which improved after some very careful, hardish use where there was no snow!
Now I have to work out where to start with the Subaru ... it never goes wrong!

Just got back fromhaving the joy of finding out my hanbrake had frozen on-no obvious signs of sticking... Only realised when i arrived at dad's work to drop off his dinner and he's shouting at me that my nearside disc is bright orange ,as i step out to have a look the pad promptly goes up. cue the furious blowing out of said flames and all hopes and prayers under the sun being shouted at the car. Fortunately as soon as it started it finished,so am currently planning to have the wheel off tomorrow and caliper to see the extent of the damage. As well as the investment of fire extinguisher Needless to say (cue the pun) that was a 'baptism of fire'

Frozen locks - got fed up of this before Christmas, I garaged it over a weekend to make sure it was dry, then gave it a good soaking of WD40 through the keyhole and in the lock. Covered up the holes with duct tape so stop any more water getting in. Worked pretty well as my locks have been perfect through this cold snap. Battery was a bit dodgy last winter - got it replaced on the service so it's been fine this year even after multiple starts. Doors haven't frozen shut since lubing the rubbers. Ice on inside of windscreen solved by pouring a bucket of warm water over the car - it clears the ice from the outside and inside, de-misted into the bargain Hand brake - ahh, I though I'd covered everything, never had problem with it before but this last week has been a nightmare - it even freezes up parked outside work! Hopefully cold snap is over now but definitely getting new cables when I can book it in.

Luckily I have a flat concrete drive to park on overnight, so never use the handbrake, just put it in 1st gear and leave the handbrake off. Have had the door freeze shut on me a couple of times, just takes 15 mins of warming around the the door frame and the lock with my bare hands and all is ok. Ditto with the inside frozen screen, some lukewarm water sorts it in no time. Can't wait for more sensible weather, it's bloody cold out there!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Had it all apart today and all seems fine upon inspection from myself and a mechanic friend. Took her out for a spin once all put together and there doesn't seem to be any repercussions. Definately gonna get new brakes in next 3 months(any point in putting brembo's on rear?) As well as get new cables fitted...

Two firsts for me today - I got my first frozen handbrake & my Coupe clocked up 100k miles! Coupe was in the bad books as it really let me down this morning - another nail in the coffin of my Coupe ownership - but thanks to cowboy for the tech help over the phone & the cable had thawed out by this evening. Faultless drive home (having topped up the oil!) BUT another winter gripe is the useless screen wash system. The Fiat engineers allowed one too many wipes on the screen wash function so by the end of the cycle the windscreen's bone dry & you're moving salt about!

Last week I had the familiar 'drive whilst holding the drivers door shut with one arm' when the locks froze up...only this time it was in the 205, not the coop!
miss driving the coop, but at least im not getting it all messed up on the salty dirty roads...roll on the good weather!

It could be worse I drive a Citron van and you pull the spray leaver and after thinking about it you pull it again only to then find you get the same problem (push salt about) but two bursts of spray about 2 seconds apart.
Dam French wipers can't even do an honest days work without striking. /sarcasm
