Dont forget to lube up your door seals too!

Always find a quick layer of vaseline keeps then unstuck.

Strangely, (as long as you can get into the car...) I've found the Coop not too bad to drive in the snow. (This is probably as I'm comparing with my past cars, which were pretty light - Uno Turbo, Punto GT).

That said I'd prefer to drive the Bravo in the snow, (a lot less nerve wracking).

Had my scooby last year for the snow, was so much fun. Coupe isnt insured atm as i decided to keep it locked up safely while the ice was about and for the more harsher months, not too worried about the skoda in the snow tbh it doesn't go fast enough to lose control lol

Well, if the predicted 2cm of snow brings the entire UK infrastructure to a halt tomorrow (which, statistically, is a fairly safe bet ) then I shall also WAH, but assuming every eejit from Margate to Maidenhead hasn't abandoned their car in the outside lane of the M20, I shall be pressing the 30-year-old Landie into service and neither getting stuck, not worrying about said eejits sliding into me.

The Monaro's rear tyres need replacing soon, and given how, er, "lively" it is under normal circumstances, I don't fancy my or it's chances in the snow. They are, apparently, a major handful in those conditions.

whassup with you all?

driving a 400bhp Coupe in the snow is no more difficult than a standard Coupe (in fact a slower throttle response and a later spoolup can be a positive advantage)

last winter (Feb March time?) there was a decent snowfall during the day that made my usual 1hr commute turn into a 3.5hr nightmare. However, the time was taken up with eejits doing 3mph when they could have done 30 and using 100% throttle when they should have been using 1%. People really just don't know how to drive as soon as things turn a little bit white.

There were all sorts of vehicles stuck, including a fair few 4WD soft-roaders - the Coupe just took it all in its stride. Snow was that deep in places that my Zender front bumper was acting as a snow plough - got home to find the lower section completely full of compacted snow - only the grille area was free.

my fiesta was great in the snow last year, mainly because if I had planted it into a brick wall I wouldnt have been too bothered, but I will be a lot more careful with the coupe. in fact I dont think I'll be using it at all until the weekend.

I always found the coupe fine in the snow i think the lsd really helsp to maintain grip and keep you going. I haven't tried my t5 in the snow yet but traction control active stability and a plethora of other acryonms keep me in a straight line i hope.

Doesn't vaseline rot rubber - hence should not be used with latex? ;\) I presume a widely available water-based lubricant will work just as well?

I've always found the coop to be good in the snow. I'd far rather drive my car then the fiance's rear wheel drive brabus roadster, unless you want to make crop style snow circles of course \:D

Ex 20VT - now something far more sensible'ish... smile

My old MX5 was lethal in snow, kicking the back out and spinning on the least pretext.

My door seals have been fine after 3 years of vaseline, I have heard similar to what your suggesting though so it may be right.

Don't you find that when using water-based lubricants, it dries out and you have to keep re-applying though??
