Hi, i have now booked my rolling road session for the end of the month, i was just wondering what boost should i run on the rollers. Its having a power/torque run with fueling checked, then the fueling checked on the rollers at different speeds and throttle openings.
I have a gtir equivalent turbo, 2.75 h&s dp, cat back straight through, blitz boost controller, sip, k&n (want to change it soon), fmic and a gtec 2.
I have been setting the blitz up on one of my settings for the rollers (1 setting at 1 bar, for normal driving, 0.8 bar for mornings and 3rd for rollers and will run when fuelings checked) i set it too 1.25 bar will that be ok or should i run 1.2 bar on the rollers, either way fueling will be checked on one ( if it runs lean i will lower the boost)

Thanks for your help in advance

Ash

When I made just under 1.2 bar on the rollers with my GTiR it was actually giving me 1.3 bar on the road.

I would set it to 1.3 bar and then adjust it if necessary when you get off the rollers.

The max boost of the GTiR is 19 psi / 1.3 bar, spikes into the low 20s are fine.

What power and torque did you get matt i will put it too 1.3 bar in abit then to make sure its set and ready (will run 1bar still for now)
Also do you know what afr you was getting so i know what it should be (11.5 to 12 i think should be best, but want to see what you got)

Thanks for your reply

I had a boost leak so all my readings were out.

And my turbo was in the process of seizing up which didnt help.

I got 215 bhp when it should have been about 280, and my AFR was 14.5 at 2000rpm, 11 at 4000 rpm and 10 at the redline. (too rich)

Oh right i will be happy with 260/270 if its fueling well. Yours was prob rich due to the boost leak, but made ok power even at that smile

You can go higher than 1.3 bar if it's benificial to do so. Highwayman found, when he had his live mapped, that 1.35bar was the best boost setting for his setup.

yeah, torque italia says 1.4 bar max on the GTiR, but I suppose the higher you go the less efficient it gets, and the shorter its lifespan.

Hi thanks for the replys 300 bhp would be nice. I have now set it too 1.25 bar now. I have done all the mods everyone has said before upping the boost.
But last night i got abit gutted, as i was testing my car against a stock coupe (as far has he know it is anyway) And in any gear at any revs he stayed with me all the way upto 6k (didn't go higher then that) in 1st, 2nd (i got wheel spin where he didn't though) 3rd and 4th. He din't lose or gain any ground but i thought i would at least start to pull higher up the revs as my turbo holds 1.1 bar at 6 k.
All the money i have spent doing these mods and theres no difference at all, only thing is mines lots quicker round the twisties smile

I have no boost leaks or any other running problems i just couldn't pull away frown

Does anyone know when the stock turbo should kick in, i thought it was about 2/ 2.5k

Thanks Ash
