that coupe at the show needs some wax on it. What a waste of space the piston heads bit is, expensive cars there things like porches with big wheels wow, glad I didnt have to pay for that bit. All the owners cars are just random, no details, marque/model history. Looks like an expensive car park.
Anyway engineering show was a good as always, but didnt seem so busy for visitors. got a DL1 data logger to go with the omex.

Have to agree with Rich, the Pistonheads bit was a bit chavvy for my taste . Oh yes, and I don't think that the Sprinty had been Zymoled for the show . If it had, I won't be buying any Zymol... The Autosport Show was good, with loads to look at as usual, but the Live Action Arena was cr*p IMHO . Apparently we saw a world record broken, but there didn't seem to be any Guinness officials there, and it was ! Phil

I have to agree with Highwayman! I was there yesterday and the Live Action Arena was NOT as good as the MPH 07 show, which was there a few months back and the PistonHeads bit wasn't great. Rest of the AutoSport show was pretty good and there loads to look at (if you can fight your way thru the crowds of people) Managed to find the sprinty - the only coop I saw all day which included a 2.5 hr drive each way

Stuart - saw your car (and your out-of-date tax disc ) Nice to see a Coupe there, but if that was an example of Zymol's detailing, I'll stick with Fairy Liquid, thanks Its definitely a clean Coupe, but indoor lighting is always harsh on car paintwork- shows up all the scratches and swirl marks. It makes you realise just how good some of the REALLY shiny cars are. (BTW, I don't really use Fairy - never use anything other than Maguiars or AutoGlym) As for the show - it as OK, nothing more. Live Arena was tame and spoilt by the usual habit of feeding lots of bass rumble through the PA system to give the impression of thundering engines. The last dragster was entertaining - they're noisy at Santa Pod - indoors was something else. Funny about the J-turn world record - he broke it on the showing I was at as well My lasting impression though was that it was HUGE - can't remember how many halls it took up - must have been eight or so. However, I came away with a smile after I got speaking with the guys at Forge - I asked them about spring rates for the DV006 dumpvalve, especially when running big boost - they gave me a freebie set of four springs and preload shims - nice chaps

Went yesterday, and here are a few snaps: Stuart's Sprinty 1 Sprinty 2 Agree with most of the comments above - the pistonheads show was alright, but if I'd paid for the ticket separately I would have been disappointed. One of the pistonheads halls had lots of fast cars - some modified (badly), but it was like a car park (with no details about the cars). It was nice to see the Coupe represented though, although my comment to my mate was "They could have cleaned it first", as it did look like it has been driven there & parked up. The second hall had more supercar content, but some of the cars did look like drug dealer specials! DC JB Webbo Big Fiat! Ultimate Fiat! My eventual Coupe replacement?! NIce Fiat model(S!) The Autosport show was excellent - especially the F1 content - saw a few drivers too. WRC was down this year, but the Colin McRae tribute was excellent. The live action show was one of the worst I'd seen - very similar to last year, a bit boring at times, dragsters that could only do burn outs due to the lack of space, uncompetitive taces (apart from the pick ups), Louise Mutton from ITV F1 presenting (poorly) again, the world record was broken when I was there too (I wondered why Norris McWhirter wasn't there [apart form being dead!]) - whihc actually was quite impressive - that guy could drive - nice to see a Lambo being ragged. If you go there you might as well go to the action show, but they need to make it better. Rest of the show was great though - seemed quieter, probably as there were more halls opened, so was more pleasant to walk about in, loads of nice cars to spot, lots of nice models about, and some good stalls that could give me some tips on mods to the Coupe. Looking forward to next year already!

Stuart - speaking from a forum / club perspective, how / why did PH contact you for a display car?
With the very greatest of respect, if they'd wanted a seriously powerful Coupe, there are a handful of 400+ bhp examples around and if they'd wanted a super-clean and shiny example, there are some staggeringly good (ie recently-resprayed) cars available.
I'm not trying to take anything away from you - you have a nice car that was let down a bit by others, not you. As you said,if it had been my car, I would have cleaned it properly myself. I think judging by the watermarks on it, it had been chamoised off and left. The wheelarches were very dirty, as was the glass. The paintwork would certainly have benefitted from a clay/wax.
However, your Coupe at the show is infinitely better than no Coupe at all, so well done for having the bottle to let thousands of visitors have a gander. Not sure I'd have like my car being as vulnerable as that.

Not sure I'd have like my car being as vulnerable as that. On the pistonheads website last year they asked if anyone would like to display their car, they should apply by sending in some details and pics and then a shortlist of cars would be chosen for display. So I thought what the heck and applied, afterall I love my coop and I'm proud to own such a car and like to show it off. I am very aware that my coop is not the best example (not had a recent respray or anything), I have seen some crackers at the meets I have attended but on the other hand I know mine can come up a treat when I clean it and give it a polish, the only thing that is bad with the paintwork is the swirling. A professional detail I would of thought would have made the bodywork look great. Anyway I thought it would be good to represent the coupe at the show, but am disappointed it wasn't shown in its best light.

Hey guys, thought id make this my first post as we were REALLY disappointed at the Zymol guys.
Did anyone see the Lamborghini Gallardo on their stand.
You'd think being an expensive detailing company they would probably have the best looking paint of the show.
But no, they probably had the worst. Black Lambo with horrible swirl marks from front to back and to make matters worse they had a strip of masking tape down the centre to show how good their product was.
The two sides didnt look any different.
If thats all Zymol can achieve, im sticking well clear.
Apart from that, was a good show and spotted your Coupe, didnt get that close but it looked ok from where i was.
