I'm having problems retrieving a microsoft word file that I attached to an email and sent it to myself.

I can download the file and it appears in the saved loacation however, when I try and open it I get the error message

The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions.
*Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
*Use the file open dialog box to locate the document.

I've tried opening the file straight from Hotmail, saving it in different locations then opening it, opening the file from word and also using a different computer but I always get the same message \:mad\:

Anyone have any suggestions or have I lost the file?

Thanks

If you go into sent items in your hotmail what is the message size? ie Is there actually anything in the word file? Could be corrupt?

The sent size is 28K with no text in the actual email. The word document is only 2 pages long with no pictures. Yeah I was wondering if it was corrupt.

28K would assume there is something there, do you want to try sending it to me and I can see if I can open it (if its not confidential etc etc )? If so pm me and I'll send you my email address \:\)

Had a similar problem the other day. Looks like they were having anti0virus scan problems, and just weren't letting files through.

We have had this at our school with student's and discovered that it helps to mark the box on the login screen that you want to save your username ( NOT your password )
