I was thinking of selling my 20vt but I might just mod a bit more. I have a gtech, powerflow exhaust and k&n at the mo. What should I be looking at doing next with around £500.

If you lucky you might be able to pick one up for 400ish, and a PRV for 20, and boost guage for around 80. Set the boost to 1.3 and away you go!

1.3 should be fine if you get the cooling right. Maybe get a compression test done first to check everything

Would I gain any more power as I'm already running at 1.1 and if so would it be noticeable.

On a standard turbo I doubt there would be much difference. Probably not noticeable. The standard turbo goes out of efficiency above 1.2bar.
A FMIC basically is a better safety feature, I believe if you added a FMIC you could run a gtech2? Which would provide mroe power.
You'll also need a front mount if you want to go further with the modding.
And shouldn't this be in tuning?

IMO you're not going to find anything that will make the coupé go noticably "fast" for that money. (A FMIC will only encourage you to turn up the boost which won't make much difference on a standard turbo apart from it will FIU quicker. EBC will help it hold boost longer but then you're pushing the engine harder without the proper supporting mods -FMIC, stronger turbo, fuel pump mod, live map, new clutch etc- so within 6 months you'll have a large bill to do all that work. Why not do something to improve the coupé appearance. Most of us need our wheels refurbished, leather patched up, scratches cleaned up, dings taken out, pampered paint work etc. I know I sound like a right bore but that £500 spent on looking after your coupe could be £2k saved in 6-12 months.

Why don't you look into sorting out the ride/handling before doing stuff that might impact on long term reliability. Billies sort out low speed ride ie crashing over pot holes bumpy roads etc, much nicer to drive. Front strut brace to stop suspension moving about as much (dreaded torque steer). eibachs will lower it and help handling i believe ask those who have done it. There is a long thread on all the different suspension setups and effects on ride quality. better handling = more speed = more chance of putting it in a hedge

Personally, I wouldn't bother with an FMIC unless you're going to go new turbo/downpipe etc. at the same time.
My vote would go for a set of DBA discs and Pagid pads from the GB thread!

1.3 should be fine if you get the cooling right. Maybe get a compression test done first to check everything Bull - I cooked a standard turbo in a few months running 1.3 bar. It is uttterly inefficient at 1.3 bar. You are at a point where £500 will get you very little in terms of power. You'll need to spend a few grand to get much of an improvement in power.

I'm with Alastair on this - you can gain significant improvements to the handling for around £800 which would make your car faster overall
I've got the Eibach/Bilstein combo and its excellent
This will cost you £400-500 plus fitting, and you should also have new wishbones, top mounts and track rod ends at the same time (say another £300)
Front strut brace is good value at approx £100 - you'll feel the difference on a standard car (easy to fit, unless you're Truffle :D)
When getting my Eibach/Billies fitted, Motormech also fitted my an uprated Whitline rear anti-roll bar (£100), which many people have rated as a good improvement
Its a little difficult to comment on individual components of my set up as it was all done at the same time, but car was totally transformed from standard - the ride quality is much better and it handles far better than standard (although I'm sure all the new wishbones made a significant difference!)
Also I've recently had one of Nigels lower braces fitted and its had a positive effect - more 'pointy' into corners and has dialled out even more understeer
It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise burial rates and blame it on the cost of living
