Will this 155 head fit onto the coupe 16VT bottom end?

are the whole motors basically the same, ie bolt in swap? if you where to use the whole thing?

Cheers

i think you may have some issues with the TS part being twin spark, so 2 plugs per cylinder, unless you block one of them off

and if it's a 16v head, you will probably find that the exhaust valves will need to be swapped as they wont be sodium filled

there are many tc-engines that are using normal ex.valves, and are not broken.. and those are cheaper too .using at high power engines also wink ( Finland at least )

155 Q4 16VT is of course the same.
155 2L TS had 2 different engines. Neither will fit. The newer belt driven engine is from the same family as the 20V. The older engine is chain drive

HGT is a useless term as there is a Punto HGT, a Bravo HGT and some markets have a 1.8 4 pot and others 2.0 5 pot in the case of the Bravo

The 16VT needs a lampredi-style engine not a Fiat modular style engine (20V/VT, 2.4 stilo abarth/kappa, Punto HGT/ Alfa 147/156/ 1.8/2.0, Alfa/Fiat 1.9/2.4 JTD etc) they are completely different generations of engine.

155TS will definitely not fit because it is definitely the modular style engine (1970cc). There was never a twin-spark of the lampredi style engine. There was a 8v 2.0 155 which is the lampredi style and the Q4 which is again the lampredi style (I dunno if that was a 8v or 16v)

I've got the lampredi book at home. I'll see if it mentions the 155 in it.

I was in Guy Croft's before xmas and unless my eye deceived me there was an 1800 16v head on early 1600 tc block, I assumed it to be punto hgt 16v head. The flow and bhp potential was eye brow raising.

Punto 1.8 HGT cylinder head is exactly the same as the 2.4 Kappa/Stilo Abarth one but obviously one pot less smile
