Hi everyone, im 23 and been driving for 4 years.
I insured my 20vt last Feb for the first time at a cost of £1009

I had a school boy error of an accident in the summer (my fault :mad:) and lost my only no claims bonus that I had.
Come this Feb, just today I get my renewal form with new quote, get ready for this, .........£1825

What am I going to do, there is no way I can afford this, this is with Adrian Flux by the way.
Still yet to shop around mind you, but still!
HELP! What can I do?

If the car is standard, it may be worth trying a comparison site like moneysupermarket as well

try adding a named driver preferable older you will find this may reduce the premium

Preferably female, like big sister or mother...assuming they can drive and have a good driving history

Thanks everyone, im going to spend all day, or as long as it takes, to shop around and find it cheaper.
If you ask me though I cant see myself knocking that extra £800 they want, coz thats my aim.

yeah thats true im my mrs is 2 years older than me but she has no no-claims and i saved over £200 :owith privilege compared to a quote just on my own

yeah don't panic untill you have halfed that quote by phoning around
i'm paying £1200 and the 20vt is my first ever car at the age of 25, (now 26)
previous to that i had a 380bhp gt4 on L'plates and had a 50/50 accident, no witnesses to back me up.
so i too at the time of insuring the coop had no no claims, fairly happy with confused.com quotes again

Yeh, try admiral. I pay £411 with them, with mods declared and no claims protection but i do have 10 years ncb.

I am an Underwriter for one of the largest insurance co's in the world, they still won't touch my coupe though! (well, they will, but not on a normal pedestrian motor policy). It all depends on their underwriting appetite for certain segments of the market (e.g. performance cars/normal everyday stuff etc...).

I've used Admiral for a few years now, they've done myself, 22, and my fiancee Lisa, 20, on a Fully Comp policy, with my 3 years NCB for £650.
