Right, what's your dream combination of model, year, colour, state of tune/history?. And what would youy pay for it?

Here goes with mine:
2000X Yellow 20VT Plus with the airbag recaros completely standard with the factory sunroof. Full service history by Motormech/Powerfiat/AutoItaliana(local specialist)
Sub 100,000 miles full history in mint condition.

I'd pay up to £8000 for such a vehicle and wrap it in cotton wool and only take it out on dry days smile

It would have to be either a Vinci LE or Pearly white / electric blue plus.

A safe and reliable 300bhp with tons of low down torque, maybe a slight bit of subtle window tinting and lowering, 10mm spacers, but not too much.

Model: Plus

Colour: Sprint Blue

Year: Whatever year they started making the Sprint Blue Plus

History: Would be nice, especially if genuine laugh

Tune: Standard, so I know it's only me that's been bodging things afterwards laugh

Cost: Up to it's value? 6/7K ish?

Mileage: Don't care, the more it's done, the better, as most big jobs would have been done smile

Certainly wouldn't be wrapped in cotton wool though, it would be an every day driver, like my Coupe is now. A car is there to be driven whenever you need it, not just to look pretty and stay dry smile

I'm with Neil - I'd love one of the first UK press 16v N/A cars, probably in yellow, totally standard, with stupidly low miles. Classic in the making and probably the most valuable Coupe in the long run.

However, it would be nice to have a mint low mile 16VT of the same age in red parked next to it.

I've got a '98 SprintBlue 20VT 92,0000 miles. Well looked after thanks to the two previous owners.

My dream is.......... after I pick up the lottery cheque, I'd get all the panels removed and remade to exact specs in a slightly thicker guage metal so that the doors don't dent all the time. Italian metal is crap and isn't fit for food use let alone car production.

No, I agree with you - I've got my dream car. I've wanted one since before I could drive. smile
Ok, when I say dream I'd rather have a Murcielago, but I can't afford one...

One thing that does worry me - this pointless predilection for low mileage... why?

It's a *car*. It's to *drive*. If you just use it as sculpture, what's the point? It's something that regularly winds me up in Classic and Sportscar - adverts for forty year old 'classics' with '4,000 genuine miles'... why bother?

Get in those cars and *drive* them, before the various governments decide you can't! laugh

One that's reliable! A dark coloured one (not fussy) with beige leather interior would suit me - 20vt obviously! cool As far as how much to pay, I would pay more for one that Paul at Motor-Mech had been running for a while (or someone at PowerFiat) but I suppose between £5-£7k.

20VT LE with completely standard exterior in mint condition.

Stripped of all parts and rebuilt using new uprated parts where applicable eg suspension, brakes etc.

Maroon/Wine Red with Tan Hide.

Climate & all the toys

Second engine in the boot.

Both engines forged with dirty great turbos pumping ~400bhp each.

Then I'd have fun playing with 1L bikes, scaring the sh1t out of anyone in the passenger seat and then trying to make it handle corners.

Dream on...!

Perfectly happy with mine, especially as I've started to mildly tune it. laugh

My only regret if that's the right word, is how much prices have dropped over the past 12 months. So much so that Highwayman's selling his well modded coop for what I paid for my standard one 15 months ago. shocked However, every future classic goes through this stage and I still intend to have mine when prices start to climb again. smile
