Possible events for the 'new' club? #551822

Following the post a week or 2 ago about making a real go of the FC Club, i thought i'd act a bit on one of my suggestions to try and get a meet at a raceday, which is more family orientated.

I contacted Brands Hatch and asked them if they could give us an 'exclusive' area for us all to park etc, for anyone arriving in a Coupe.

They have replied as follows:

"It would be great if the Fiat Coupe owners have a regional meeting at Brands Hatch. What we can offer you is an exclusive area, for Fiat Coupe owners only, to park inside the circuit free of charge on a car club race day. This would be the gravel area on the right hand side as you enter the circuit from the main entrance.

Tickets will be £10 per adult, if booked in advance, and children 12 years and under get in free. Please note that the free parking will only be available to people who drive to the circuit in their Fiat Coupe"

This was in relation to club races, (i.e. not the national ones) which there are plenty of, including Fiats (see further down)

I then asked about BTCC (Touring Cars) in March and September:

"We can offer you the following for either BTCC race weekend at Brands Hatch 29/30 March 20/21 September:

Weekend Southbank parking for only £5 per car.

Only Fiat Coupe club members who drive to the circuit in their coupe will be allowed access. Adult admission tickets will need to be purchased. If you let me know how many parking passes the club wish to purchase and I will post them for you to distribute"

For those who dont know, the southbank is within the perimeter of the circuit.

Just thought i'd let everyone know as it could be good for a club meet if its formed in time, or to promote FCCUK. I am not a member of the club as i'm waiting to see whats going to happen, but thought i'd do some research anyways!

It might be better for September, but good to know we can do it! I've made similar enquiries for http://www.fiatracing.com/

Mark

Thanks Mark for an interesting suggestion, we are looking at events which will interest coupe owners.

This sounds really good. Would be good for the coops to come out in force \:\) Mini track days would be good too, as i want to track my car but not against young lads in 106's etc who will go over the top in bends etc. I want to test the handling of my car but with other coops (easier to know how fast to take bends when following another coop :))

Excellent work Mark, this is exactly the kind of event that I think the club should be organising.

The club did arrange something similar to the "Red Day" at Donnington a few years ago which seemed to go very well.

Great idea!

So, are we going to do anything about it?

The March race weekend is approaching fast and I would love to go. I am sure debs and the kids would be up for it. Would be great to see a line of coupes at the track.

Will you be going Mark? Would you be willing to organise tickets etc? If not then i would be willing. we need to get our skates on if we want to make the March date.
