My side, I did want to spend around 2.5k on a coupe as that seemed to be around the norma price looking on the trader and here, I will spend around 6k on an SL as that seems to be the norm also for SL´s. Diferent budget for different cars, The price does not relate to the condition of the car ever (I purchased a 100 pound pug 205 which wouldnt die and a 2 year old alfa that was a nightmare), I have a budget of 1k for a 205 gti and so on.Pêople ask what they think and people will only pay what they want to pay. As for the dispute with the others Carlt was more than helpful (cheers mate) however it seems the other was out of order saying things like that, and was very quick to backtrack and (obscenity deleted by moderator). I guess lessons have been learned here, Thank you

Um, I took mine on a 1600 mile trip through France in high Summer a couple of years ago & even a 3 hour crawl through Paris bank holiday traffic couldn't kill it! As some of the earlier posts - check it out, make sure all the belts have been done, check the oil & mod it carefully & you'll be sound as a pound. Carlt is the daddy by the way - kept mine on the road a couple of times! "Diss" him at your peril!

Jeez, if you really want a coupe just buy the best one you can justify spending the cash on, and get breakdown cover! You dont buy coupes with your head.

99% of those £2.5k coupes on trader are UTTER crud. HENCE you cannot find a good one for your budget.
You need £3.5k for a decent one, all others will need tons of work.
Put up the cash or move on Tyrone.

Well i'll be taking my car snowboarding with me ( not sure how to strap it on a board yet ) St Malo to Morzine and back should be interesting roughtly 1200 miles. OT I know - but this was my old Speeder in Les Gets, a couple of miles from Morzine, in (I think) 2001. Travelled there from Kent, only problem I had was a loose wiper arm which had just been fitted by......... a Fiat dealer (I know, I didn't know any better back then!)

I reckon that you end up paying £4k for a decent Fiat Coupé unless you're lucky
If you pay less than that you're going end up just paying to have whatever was wrong fixed totalling up to at least £4k
Parkers Guide will work out what Fiats are selling at by an average of what they are actually selling for. As a lot of coupé's are not taken care of they end up selling cheaply. As people buy them cheaply they aren’t taken care of and it goes into a downward spiral.
£2.5k is a nice price for a coupé in some cases and you get what you pay for which could be right for you, but it's not if you're going to immediately put a lot of demand like driving across Europe on the poor thing
