First post, new guy here. Call me stupid but is there such thing as a metal gate for the gear stick on the coop that you can get hold of? Since my explanation isn't great I just had to include a picture.
The coop gear change is quite deffinate so I wondered if it is possible. Being a kind of classic italian theme.

Welcome to the forum \:\)

No there isn't a gate, some people have looked into the idea but it doesn't seem to have come to much \:\(

By the way, there is no way of posting pictures in the forum, you can only link directly to the hosting site, hence the reason I've removed your image tags \:\)

Got it, shame \:\( . I was quite liking the prospect of a satisfying clink as it changed gear, glad to have an Italian car at last though.

Just nabbed the image from a google search, I haven't actually seen one in a coop but I have seen mention of it before here http://www.fiat-coupe.info/pg1.php
Actually he has only said alloy gear gaitor, so it might just be a surround or something

I'm making one, its just put on hold due to Rx7, it will be ready end of April/Start of May.

Its 5-speed only atm, i will be taking a template from Rog's car though for a 6-speed.

Need to find a suitable bearing to fit over the lever to ensure smooth movement btw, so if anyone has any suggestions...

guys,

This gearshift gate will happen. AKEME aka 'pube' is making them, and i will ensure he does them for both 5 speed and 6 speed boxes.

Yeah thats a bit naff.. The stick needs to be thicker and slightly shorter, and the gate needs to be more substantial - a plate over the console looks a bit amateur IMHO.

The look to go for (or how I imagine it to look to make it look good) is have the plate attached underneath the console with a chrome surround around the hole \:\)

Anyone agree? \:\)

Dan
