Anyone know of any coupe with less than this?

If its genuine, in reflective condition and correctly cared for, then for the price it could put "The Doctors" car at GTi in the shade.....

wink

Didn't think the Plus came out until V reg? Seems a bit daft to try to sell a £7.5k car without taking pictures

this isnt a plus if its a 98 and i have a feeling that there is a zero missing (mistake) in the advert.

Unless of course he just clocked it and lost the service history laugh

Looks like a plus from the pictures, except that it doesn't have red brembos.

We shouldn't slag it off though - could be a genuine car with a decent owner.

Would need to have had cambelt done though regardless of mileage............

Indeed, it does - apart from the red Brembos, so presumably it's a 20vt[6]. The pics weren't there an hour ago crazy

Quite right. Piccies now show no Plus calipers or body kit, so a turbo 6 then.

Owned from new for 10 years, but unaware its not a Plus I guess means not an enthusiast/visitor to/from this forum?

Can anyone here zoom in on a picture of the tax disc clearly?

I'm just suss as all the other cars in the background of the photos are older models, there are no new cars that I can see, suggesting the photo may be several years old......

I'm with Stan here. The other cars are all fairly old models and the tax disc colour doesn't look like any current ones...

If it really has done 10,700 why hasn't he done the "owned by elderly lady to do her shopping once a fortnight" line in the advert ?

I can only guess that its either gone wrong so much (a JimO special !!) that it only ever went to the fiat garage crazy

Anyone who buys a coop and keeps the mileage that low has to be an enthusiast of types, which makes me wonder, if it is his pride & joy, why arnt there more pics, and more details about the history? and reasons why the mileage is so low? me suspects a recon..... or a missing 0 !

Hmm if there was a missing 0 then why add "genuine miles" to the ad, and also "only 10k.." etc.

I'm wondering whether this is one of those people who thinks that replacing a knackered old engine and putting a new one in 10k ago means the "car" has only done 10k rolleyes

Last edited by Lucifer; 18/03/2008 16:54. Reason: of course we may be all being unfair and ruling out the possibility that this genuinely is a 10k car!?! :o xD

Hang on, has anyone considered that the guy might be trying to sell a genuine car - benefit of the doubt and all that!

It looks like the photo may have been taken at the Goodwood Festival of Speed car park. Its possible then that he's a car collector or something, and has the choice of many cars to drive - hence the low mileage.

Has anyone been to take a look?

I agree. Why is it impossible for an 8 year old car to have only 10,700 miles. I bought an Audi A3 a few years back, 5 years old with 7,900 on the clock. My mate Brian bought a 1996 Alfa GTV last year with 22,000 on the clock.

Low milers do exist!!!

Very true - A short while after buying my 38k mile Integrale (when it was 7 years old), I got to view one of similar age with just 1,900 miles recorded (mind you it was up for £9.5k more).

Still confused though that if the seller has owned it from new, then why they originally listed it on PistonHeads as a PLUS?

If they were not an "enthusiast" or expert and had bought it second-hand badly described then I suspose its possible to own it for years and then list it wrong (especially as the DVLA document normally just states 20VT and not PLUS/LE/Turbo 6 etc.)

But surely to have purchased new, then the original purchase price/receipt detail/brochure/extras etc etc surely would have given it away 10 years ago in the showroom that it wasn't a PLUS....... if PLUS's were indeed even for sale on a T plate..... Unless he got stung by the FIAT Dealer rolleyes......

Possibly a very nice, well maintained and cared for, exceedingly genuine low mileage Turbo 6 that someone will go to see, drive, inspect, love and purchase.

What makes me confused is why you are still discussing this, if you have such an issue with the buyers description or mileage, why not contact him!!! Clearly no-one here knows the answer!
