Hi All,

I want to make my engine bay shine!

I want to polish the Rocker cover first but then what?

How hard is this to do myself? and where can i get any pretty shiney things for the engine bay from?

Also has anyone got any pics of what theyve done to theyre engine bays so i can get some ideas?

Meagy has done some nice detailing in his engine bay, some info here Engine bay

I've just got a spare rocker cover, fuel rail etc. (I got my spares from REX), and am starting to get these ready for painting. Takes a bit of elbow grease!

Has anybody added braided pipework?

I think i will get spares and polish them. Is there any thing i need to look out for when i buy a fuel rail and rocker? How hard is it to fit them myself?

The service manual CD covers this stuff, guess it's a case of how confident you are. Certainly the rocker cover isn't to big a job, and there are a couple of how to guides

I got a polishing kit off ebay, three different polishing bars and polishing wheels.
Bit of advice, wet and dry the surface first to get it perfectly smooth, you need to get rid of all the pitting then you will get a mirror finish.
Well worth the effort and dare I say quite satisfying to do!!

MMmmm, don't agree that polishing takes ages, did my coilpack cover in under 2 hours from start to finish.
I think you could do the whole lot in a day or 2 days max from start to finish.
Saying that I do think your painting covers looks the bizz!!
But I prefer the polished look!

How long did that take you?
Probably the last on my list of coop things to do, but would like to give it a good clean at some point.
