My dad was out there when the accident happened. Basically, because the fog was so thick, that some of the drivers drive at normal speed, but put their hazard lights on whilst driving to show where they are. Unfortuantly they had been an accident, and so people put their hazard lights on to warn about the accident, but because people are so used to seeing them on whilst driving, they just plowed into the back of each other. They was also 3 lorries involved with the cabs off the back and benches in them for transporting people about

They love to use their hazard lights. I call them the lights of invincibility.

100mph + 10m visibility + hazard lights = I'll be fine

Those lorries have supposidly been banned out there and to be hosnest, I haven't seen any for a few years but, i know there were several worker busses involved. They're basically the same though - Tata busses with bars on the windows and bench seats. You often see them sitting 10 across on the back row to give you an idea how full they are.

If you look at the video, all the guys wandering around in blue and yellow jump suits will be the ones form the construction company work busses.

People annoy me using their hazards to warn of queues in the UK. Dont know about the U.A.E but as far as I know it's illegal to use hazards on a mobile vehicle.

I'd suggest you look at the highway manual then, the hazards lights are to be used when you are coming to an abrupt stop / slowing quickly on a motorway to warn other drivers

Got to agree with Begbie here - I often use my hazards when slowing to a abrupt stop on the M56 into Manchester

Much perferable to some idiot not realising the traffic has gone from 80mph top 10mph and ploughing into the back of me (as could happen if they werent paying attention - the hazards certainly focus peoples attention on whats happening in front of them)

It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise burial rates and blame it on the cost of living

I recall being driven about 70 mph on a dual carriageway in Port Harcourt in Nigeria a few years back.. they went for the invincible hazard lights too

Of course we were going against the traffic (into oncoming traffic \:o ) at the time *

* = Was late for helicopter going offshore..due to traffic, hence my drivers willingness to break the law

Ex 20VT - now something far more sensible'ish... smile
