I'm considering upgrading to a DAB head unit but I want to keep the standard Clarion boot changer which is fitted to to my LE.

Any suggestions on what might fit the bill and where to buy?

A Clarion DAB radio and that's it if you want to keep the changer.

Clarion changers are not compatible with other makes and I have not seen any adapters either. Sorry

Thinking about it I could of course stealth Mrs. Repo's 10 disc Balupunkt unit out of her Multipla - that would presumably widen the options by one brand at least..

Mmmm.... a plan is afoot..

Blaupunkt are one of the best for Dab and produced the first MP3 and DAB units...

You may need a better aerial too.

I echo the recommendation of Blaupunkt DAB radio - I've had two, and both have been excellent.

On the subject of antennae, Blaupunkt now offer a combined FM/DAB unit, but it does mean a hole in the roof. On a previous car I used a Panorama/Blaupunkt glass mounted external antenna, which gave good results, but the rear wiper sweep on the Coupe means one of these would have to be mounted to one side, which would look odd, and there could be interference from the FM antenna.

I now have an internal glass mount antenna, and it works perfectly. At least it did, until my windscreen cracked and had to be replaced. The antenna is supposed to be removeable with care, but AutoWindscreens just pulled it off, breaking the elements, and stuck it back on, hoping I wouldn't notice. They are now paying for a new one to be supplied and fitted....

I used an external DAB antenna and if you are careful when siting, it is possible to get it virtually central on the rear window, and the wiper does miss it.... honest!!
