Looks like the wiring was shorted which unlocked the door

Okay, but I'm a bit worried (coupe paranoia) if it's that easy to trigger the central locking.

Was the 'loose' connection that locked the keys in the car in the first place?

My guess - if it wasn't a setup - was that he went in through the indicator hole, fished out the central locking interface cable, and either earthed or volted it as required. It suggests a certain familiarity with the alarm system...

I agree. I alarmed an Alfa 145 with the same central locking setup and if I remember right an earth pulse will trigger the locks to lock or unlock depending which wire you get. I think they are pink and grey.
He's going through just where that wire enters the dooor.
He possibly snagged the wire on a sharp edge and unlocked it.

soooooooooo.........

are all coupe's alarms located there?

if so think it may be time to devise a security bracket of some description to stop any attempts from local scumbags who may have seen the video.

Quite; opening the doors doesn't get the engine started (though I hear there are ways around that, too) and a brick through the window is still the quickest way in.

Still does not explain how you can lock your keys in a coupe, keys on the seat.
