Hi
I have just bought Eldinho's turbo, it will be delivered to Motor-Mech on Tuesday to hopefully be fitted to my 20VT
I have ordered the following fitments, could somebody in the know take a look and let me know what else is needed and if possible where I can get them in the UK quickly.
So far I have ordered .......
Oil Return Gasket - GT Series Gasket, for Drain Flange, GT25R, GT28R, GT28RS, GT30R, GT35R, Also oil feed flange T3
Aluminum - Oil Drain Flange (GT/T25) Billet aluminum oil drain/return flange for GT ball bearing series turbochargers (GT25R/GT28R/GT30R/GT35R).
Oil inlet feed flange Gasket - Feed Flange (T3) Gasket, for T3 oil feed flange and also Drain Flange, GT25R, GT28R, GT28RS, GT30R, GT35R, Also oil feed flange T3.
T25/GT25 Inlet Gasket T25/GT25/T28 Inlet Gasket, Stainless Steel
Internal Wastegate Actuator - Special 7 psi Actuator for internal wastegate assembly. Special lower pressure (7 psi) version of the actuator similiar to the one found on the GT28RS/GT2871R.
Thanks in advance,

Was suprised it was still there and it was a pretty much spur of the moment thing - I find most of my best decisions are Just need to make sure I acquire all the right parts though, spoke to turbo Dynamics who said he though it was a direct fit, from the little I know thats completely false.

OK, no actuator needed that can go back. The actuator was recommended by T dynamics, was it a poor choice ? Motor-mech have the adapter for my standard downpipe although this may be changed later on. So, am I actually missing anything now ? Cheers guys

yes the walrbro 255lph should be fine, make sure you get a GSS341 or GSS342 though. also get the wiring mod done. PM Jap he does them for around £15 I think!
A performance exhaust would also be best to get the most out of the RS. and also a SIP should improve spool up!
really depends how much you have/want to spend!

The exhaust is going to be replaced, it has the worst one I have ever seen fitted on a coupe.
I have a Cybox fitted to my 16VT and have been more than happy with it so will opt for the same with this.

is the cybox just cat back? decat and larger downpipe would see the biggest gains!
also start saving for a new uprated clutch!
If you want approx 330bhp then the following mods would get you there
GT28RS 0.64 FMIC SIP with airfilter apexi/ramair? Full exhaust with decat Walbro 255lph wiring mod EBC some sort of mapping
then you need to start looking at supporting mods such as suspension, brakes and clutch.

GT28RS - sourced - thanks.
FMIC - coming from Timpyeon
SIP - still to get - any links you can provide ?
Full exhaust - for moment will only be from cat onwars with the Cybox
Walbro - now on order
Wiring mod - not sure - maybe motormech can help ?
EBC - Greddy Profec II on order, will be here very soon.
As for mapping will need to find an RR near to Birmingham, any suggestions, rough cost ?
Thanks

wiring mod you can get from Jap for around £15, send him a PM.
SIP, not 100% where you get these from. used to be torque italia (might still do) but i think Pro Alloy might do one?
Mapping. Personally I would go Perfect Touch in your situation. You aren't that far away and they have some expereince of coupe's in this state of tune. But I would wait until you get the whole exhaust done as your map would be out if you changed it afterwards.

Fccuk this is all adding up After the respray I recon I will be 5K lighter plus the cost of the original car. I have ordered this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-COUPE-TU...QQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItemDoes anyone else have the same system ? I'm trying to figure out how noisy this will be, hopefully not too loud ? Also recommendations for a dump valve ? Regards

don't get it mapped until you have a clutch that can take over 300BHP. Otherwise it will slip on the rollers and waste your hard earned ££££. Would suggest running it at base boost on a std clutch
If you have a std exhaust you will need something better as it will impede its spoolup as well as flow would not recommend any sort of decent boost on a std downpipe as it was sized for a 220BHP car not a 320BHP one.

Blue flame exhaust, decat is what I have.
Clutch still to sort, any ideas ?
In terms of power, with this set up what could I realisticly acchieve ?

John,
I am running a standard downpipe and got 300bhp at 1.2bar, only clutch slip prevented me from going higher. Not sure I want or need much more power, so in my experience going for a large DP may be optional..

yeah agreed. I guess I (wrongly) assume that arbitrarily people want to make as much power as they can out of the size of turbo they have.
But if you want 300BHP or indeed 320BHP the GT28RS is a real overkill.

Hmmmmm, now you have me thinking.
The reason I was hoping for 300BHP is it seems to be the benchmark most try to achieve, I was assuming (most liklely wrongly) that 300BHP was about the max you could run on standard internals ?
Am I wrong, what could I realisticly achieve with a 3" downpipe, the above kit and standard internals ?

340-350 bhp on that turbo is realistic. AS long as the car is mapped properly then the standard internals should be fine at that level. People have run more than that - but not realiably. I would advise you to run no more than 1.15 bar at the redline. 300bhp is a benchmark as when you go above that level of tune you are looking at much more money in terms of bhp per pound....if you want to go higher then make sure that you know how much it is going to cost you - clutch, mapping, brakes, suspension etc. Just make sure that you dont cut any corners, as it will cost you more in the long run.
