As I have an A3, I pop on Audi-Sport every now and then. I was pleased to see a good thread on there about the Coupe.

Some differing views, some good, some not so. Much of it is not knowing the coupe as well as most on here. MrB put paid to that lower down in the thread though \:\)

Just thought people would like to check it out!

You can find threads like this all over the internet. It seems that more and more people are finally learning how quick coops are at last.

I do wonder where they get some of the facts from though (250bhp 20vT and 220bhp 16vt, twin intercoolers etc).

That 'AWD' system sounds weird though... Think I'll save looking up mid 90s Audi transmission types for a very, VERY rainy day ;\)

F****** b****** thing...

LOL, that'll be me then. They seem like a good bunch over there actually, shame I'm not getting the S3 now, however I'll still visit for info about the A4.

As for the 4WD systems, basically there are 2, 'real' Quattro with the engine front to back etc, and the 'other' Quattro with the engine in the traditional FWD position and a Haldex clutch. The S3 is essentialy FWD most of the time unless it loses grip when power goes to the rear.

That's a very simplistic nutshell, I can't pretend to be an expert in this stuff, I just know it's fun to drive! More grip than you'll ever need (in theory!).

Well, as I've taken up residence over on Audi-Forum in readiness for the arrival of the S3 \:\/ , I'm pleased to see some fellow Coupe owners extending the olive branch \:D !

I've added a little further to their thread and await the inevitable comments about the 911... Oh well, if they dont believe me, so what, I know that Flea enjoyed the tussle at the time ;\) .

There's always a selection of vids (that some people have, somewhere) available for personal viewing to help bolster the cause... ahem \:D
