I'm collecting a front bumper tomorrow, and was going to cram it inside the car - anyone done this - does it fit inside ?

yes it fits. thought its a little tight and you will need to lay the front passenger seat flat

Yes it's not hard to do, just make sure you wrap it in something so you don't dirty and mark the seats. Recline the passenger seat, push one end of the bumper as far back as you can go then swing the other end round to sit on the passenger seat. I couldn't see out of the passenger window too well though when I did it.

I managed to get it tucked in nicely so I could see out of the windows, but Craig (MABR) managed to get the bumper AND his missus in at the same time laugh

Not an experience that Julie wishes to repeat - her neck's never been the same since. laugh

Just to confirm that it will fit, as the others have said.

Only had to do it once, but it fits cool

I *just* managed to get a standard front bumper in my Coop through the ski hatch. I was picking it up from fiat131turbo and Ross had came along for a run with me. When I got there I thought "oh feck,i`m not gonna get that in frown " after a quick measure up against the hole.

I couldn`t understand how Sparkyman managed to get his bumper back up from the Lakes meet in his car until Ross reminded me that he took it up the road for him in his stripped out Coop rolleyes .

So anyway, faced with either leaving the bumper or giving it a go I decided to try it. Firstly I removed the plastic edging strip round the edge of the hatch to make the hole as big as possible then (I think it helped that the weather was warm as the bumper was nice and flexible) I had to fold the bumper end in on itself slightly to get through the hatch and the same with the other side to get the boot lid down.

Once I got home and got the bumper out everything sprung back into it`s original form,so I can confirm you can get a standard bumper through the ski hatch if you need to do it that way. Don`t think you could do it with a fibreglass bumper though as it wouldn`t flex enough frown .

Hey Baz, before that bumper reached Ross' stripped out car it had gone up the M6 in mine, and I took it off MABR who had his missus in the car as well! tongue
