I cant get these things out! Got the dash side panels off, and have had a look at the guide here but I can't see or feel how to pop the unit out. I can feel the actual tweeter, and am trying to find a lug just beyond the tweeter, to release the unit. Any tips anyone can give to get them out?

Right. To remove the cards do the following:- Remove the rear bench seat. Undo the lower seatbelt bar Remove the screw hidden behind this Undo the two allen bolts at the base of the panel Undo the two cross head screws accesible with the ski hatch down Now carefully pop the panel away from the body as there are two pop fasteners in the middle of the panel. Oh yes and also use the search function and you will see you have asked this before and had an answer Rear speakers John

I guess the pop fasteners must be pretty tight because the cards felt like they were flexing too much when pulling them inwards with all the screws etc out. I'll have another go with it tomorrow I know what you mean Stu. In this cold weather it is all too easy to break the cards How about warming the cards, and the area behind, with a hairdryer. You will lokk a fool but it could save breaking or cracking the card. John

Your next game will be mounting the new tweeters, assuming you're not replacing with original ones. There is a good guide on the how-to's. I also have a good tip if you've gone with a set of Infinity reference (or possibly other models?). I keep meaning to add it to the how -to, assuming I can. Anyway, it involves some sawn off PU piping. Let me know if you need the pics before I get around to the guide.

Speakey, you have noticed this thread is six years old, haven't you If he hasn't managed to fit the tweeters by now I don't think any how-to guide is going to help! Amazing

Aaaaanway... here are the pics of how I used a ring of piping as a spacer to fit the Infinity tweeters nicely. The tweeters come with some nice little cradles for dash mounting, but because we want a stealth install, when you try to mount them flush underneath the existing tweeter hole, the dome grille on the tweeter is a bit big, meaning the cradle can't be used to glue in the opening that is left behind after the old ones or removed, OR you need to to a LOT of trimming with that stanley knife. It's not soft plastic, so it's a pretty pesky job to whittle it down to size. I did try. Picture 1 - the tweeter in its nice dash cradle, the original tweeter mounting with the plastic cross cut out as per How To guide, and a short length of piping used as a spacer/ring washer. Exactly the right size to glue to the tweeter mount, and push the new dome grille inside, while using the new cradle mount to stop the tweeter falling too far inside. (Note, you probably don't even have to do any trimming to the existing tweeter mount if you are using a homemade spacer. I probably came up with this idea half way through the How To guide, so I'd already had my fun with the knife.) Picture 2 - The pipe in question. Yes, you could install 70 sets of tweeters with this length of pipe, but I happened to have it lying around. Picture 3 - Spacer glued (epoxy) to the tweeter mount. Picture 4 - Tweeter mount glued to the other end of the spacer. Picture 5 - Ready to install, with a bit of tape around for good measure.
