Although, having said that, the cars that Hammond and Clarkson are hanging around don't look Italian and that GTV could be just parked up

Seriously though, The Police Car could be Cool as Fccuk, but I have the feeling that a 90's coupe challenge is on the cards. Think about it....its Top Gear....Clarkson would have a Noble M12 Cop car, Hammond a 911 Cop car and May a XJS....oh the cops did that already.

I work for the BBC (for the BBC Worldwide bit at the mo) so I may be able to root round for some stuff, or ask Press/PR if there's anything that the club can have in advance of anything that's potentially embargoed.

Top Gear magazine are part of Worldwide so again I can cast out some questions and see what I can find out.

I am a bit embarassed to say that my neglected and slighly unwell silver LE (soon to rectified by Power Fiat)has been parked in eyeshot the magazine team's office a few times over the last year (before they moved across the road) so hope I didn't give them any ideas

To everybody else I am in meetings with a software vendor (who unusually all happen to be former Isreali special forces so we don't try to piss them off) on Monday so news may not be forthcoming immediately..

However those who are at the beeb with access to infax or Orion/Pics you may be able to see the short/long synopsis of the new series as the show would have been scheduled by now and sent out to third party web partners (and may also be on the Online Catalogue up here at Worldwide). So anyone at BDS and in Ealing or the listings press may have seen the programme summaries already.

Just a word of caution for any beeb peeps who have seen the info, just run it by press and Pr before you post on a public forum as some specifics and content may be embargoed (scripts, Press Packs, Photo’s, Promos etc) until the press launch for the series (and or show) and you wouldn’t want to get into trouble with the Producer or Exec - which is possible with members of the show team including the talent aware of this place.

For the record the public press office site is here http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/ and is full of interesting stuff (if you are like in this kinda stuff) Do a search for Top Gear and you can see how the new international versions are progressing for example.

Following on from Nigel's confirmation. I followed clarkson round a bit at Stanford Hall today. A nice lady asked him about the fiat coupes and his reply was something like

" I know, I have one. A 20V turbo. It is going to be on the next series of top gear "

So def confirmed from the man himself lol
